We shouldn't get too carried away with physiques, after all a physique doesn't win fights. And look at Duran in his 30's, hardly a physical specimen, but was still an absolute beast when he wanted to be. It's not the physique itself that's significant, it's more just that it lends weight to the notion that Pacquiao doesn't have the fire and hunger anymore. I might be wrong, even an unmotivated Pacquiao could be good enough to beat the shit out of Bradley, but I do believe a lot of you guys picking Pacquiao by blowout are going to be very surprised. Bradley is being a bit underrated, I think the fight is going to be very close.
Look at Vargas DLH. I rememer I had a few friends over that don't follow boxing. One my friends thought I was crazy. He said "Vargas is some much bigger and obviously stronger. I am not saying that there is no correlation between looking soft and being soft. It just isn't an automatic thing.
Ike, I agree with your point, but the difference in that fight is that was just what they looked like anyway. The key thing here is Pacquiao has never, ever looked this soft.
It's not about comparing Pacquiao's physique to Bradley's, it's about comparing it to Pacquiao in the past. I think it's legit to wonder if Pacquiao is in the same kind of shape he normally is.
Exactly, you said what I was getting at more succinctly. One guy having a better physique than another doesn't mean much at all really, some guys just have more impressive looking physiques. But looking softer than you ever have done is significant, or could be.
Right, and it might not mean anything. Pacquiao might take control early and beat the shit out of Bradley. But I'm really curious to see what happens in the late rounds if Bradley still thinks he has a chance.
Agreed, and like most people have alluded to, I really do think Pacquiao needs to come out as aggressive as possible, and make Timmy realise he's in with a different animal this time. Bradley is very confident and determined, and if Pacquiao doesn't beat some of that confidence out of him early, it will grow.
It's 7-1 at Sports Interaction. All the other sites I checked are closer to 4.5 or 5-1. I want in one that action, but SI says I need a gift card or some shit.
He weighed 150 in the ring tonight, which supports the idea that he hadn't dried out as much, coz that's about what he's weighed in the past. Could be he just didn't train or stay on diet the last couple of days.
