We haven't seen Arreola enough to make a proper pick here. It could be that his edge in power and strength(yes, size matters between heavyweights) is too much here, but it could also be that Quarry's edge in skill is just too much. I'd pick Arreola to win much the same way Chuvalo did, but with no certainity

Arreola is taller and has a much higher body fat percentage than Quarry, but that's about it. Quarry defeated Ron Lyle, who had a size (not fat), strength and power advantage over Quarry and was a much better fighter than Arreola, with room to spare.

    Quarry by comfortable decision.

I don't want to offend the bERT sUGARISTS here, but Quarry sucked. tHE ISSUE HERE IS was he Arreola bad , no. I know that calling Quarry a bum offends the Sugarists BECAUSE HE FOUGHT IN THE 70'S and therefore was a demigod. Ali beat him so he was great, I get it. Still, Arreola is just filled with suck.I doubt he could beat his meat due to obesity.

Every once in a while you post something that actually makes a bit of sense and isn't some obnoxious attention grab.

This is not one of those posts.

I don't know of ANYONE who calls Quarry "great", except maybe for you during one of your off base rants (see above). But...Quarry was a good fighter and a legitimate contender during the best time for heavies ever. And he was CERTAINLY a better fighter than Arreola.

Quarry overcomes his lack of comparitive obesity & wins by UD, due to being a better fighter.

Awesome non-answer which, of course, relies on your asshat schtick.

Quarry WAS a good fighter. But you wouldn't know because that would require actually seeing him fight instead of endlessly repeating your same old tired lines.

The "Explosive Bellflower Belter" Jerry Quarry would take a decision over Chris Arreola

This post reeks of the jaws-esque homosexuality. He is supposed to be sucking on your balls, not the other way around.

Quarry was a good heavyweight, not great, but good. We aren't matching him with someone really good. We are matching him with a one-dimensional tub of shit.

Quarry, a counterpuncher with a good chin, a sharp left hook and solid all-around skills, has enough to land consistently on a slow, fat spurt fighter with poor defense and unimaginative punch selection. It's fucking elementary.

    Stop being a mikE

You Sugarists sure got exposed here. I picked that diaper wearing d-ead bum over Arreola. Quarry was a shit fighter. Notice, you sUGARIST CAN'T bear to have any of Ali's competition diminished.Exactly what I predicted. All I wrote was Quarry would beat ARREOLA, but the Sugarist wants to argue even when our prediction is the same.

Quarry was neither a bum nor a shit fighter.

What does any of it have to do with Ali?

I'm saying Quarry was solid, because he was

I'm not even an Ali fan

Quarry was dogshit. Good fighters don't get stopped by George Chuvalo. He also had some gift decisions too. If Quarry were black instead of some fat Irish prick, he wouldn't be discussed at all. He sucked ass. That noth withstanding, he would still sodomize Arreola.Old chinny Patterson eat his ass twice too.

Saying he isn't doesn't either. Sugarist should be happy though. The shitbags of the 70's were better than the ones today. I am surprised such an average fighter is brought up. Ali, who is an idiot, actually said what needed to be said at the time. Quarry was in the mix because he was white. He was pole axed by the elite fighters most of the time. Norton played with him as did Ali(2x) and Frazier really beat the ever loving shit out of his pudgy ass. He alsogot stopped dead by cHUVALO whose claim to fame was giving guys rounds and a "W". Not Quarry, he got stopped dead. Got gifts twice over the ghost of Patterson. He did beat Randy Neumann(You know the fat pig looking ref, not the musician, as a concession he'd have beaten him too.), Ernie the Chinless wonder Shavers, Buster "two titties" Mathis. Yeah, I wish I had seen him live, Quarry was great.

But that's his only debate "skill" - make ridiculous comments and repeat them over and over.

Words of an attention whore. Sorry, FreeTROLL, but your desperate need for negative attention is getting old...nearly as old as the stale and repetitive tactics you use to get it.

Maybe you SHOULD take some time off and work on a new act. Your posts were never all that insightful, but they at least used to be funny. These days you don't even have that going for you.

oh? I thought we were talking about good, solid fighters here

so in order to be that, you must defeat a "GREAT" fighter... yeah, that's sensible

Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit

Ron Lyle was a good contender in the greatest era of heavies ever. Sugarist bullshit my ass, I'd pick a prime Lyle over either Klitschko without hesitation.

    "sugarist" :lol:

Funny thing about bert sugar is, he never had any real insight. All he did was rattle off platitudes ( e.g. style s make fights) and talk about the good old days. He was all image and no substance.

    it's true

He would have picked Sam Langford to pole-ax Ali

The use of "bert sugar!" as a demeaning insult to someone who thinks anyone who fought before 1990 might be good is obscenely stupid

Sugar dealt solely in fiction and myth
