Mosley is shot to all hell no doubt. However I think the effort and performance he gave in the Canello fight was better than all of his previous 3 fights. He showed toughness, durability, and even a desire and belief to win. His only short comings was stamina, work rate, and a lack of pop. Taken all that into consideration I'd have to say that Berto and Mosley are about even as opponents go, which says how much I think of Berto.

Seems like Ortiz is too small, isn't he? I mean, I recognize he's the biggest welterweight Lampley has ever seen, but junior middle-weight? So soon?

I like this fight. I think it will be action packed. I think we will get what what Mosley was supposed to provide against Canelo. Obviously Ortiz is younger but is both strong and fast.

At 154 against Canelo it's a safe bet that he will be strong and fast enough for him.

The only problem is that Ortiz is falling into the Judah category where he is talented but mentally he has fucked up a few times already so that makes him vunerable.

By the way I expect Ortiz to destroy Lopez this month.

Usually I'd say yes, but Canelo is a tiny 154 pounder, like I said, he was Shane's size at best. I honestly think he's just not very good at making weight or something.

I bet the size/strength difference won't be that significant.

Yep, Canelo is small at 154 and Ortiz is a big 147 lber (I dunno how the hell he made 140). Size won't make a big difference here.

Granted, this IS a very good matchup.

I actually like it a lot more than Canelo-Kirkland.

Ortiz might be a mental midget, but he's still a lot more talented than Kirkland's bum ass.

Maybe Canelo will fight him anyway, like Floyd fought Zab anyway.

Ortiz's career has turned out exactly like I thought. maweather is a cunt fighting him. For years, in the Los Angeles area fighters would mutter that Ortiz was getting so much hype because he was a known bitch. No doubt a fighter from Riverside knew this knowledge and knew all he had to do was keep coming. Even before his jaw was broken, Ortiz wanted out and he tried to get dq'd with a rabbit punch. I knew he wanted out right there.

Matthysse is what you faggots thought that scrub mAIDANA is. Unlike that bum Maidana, Matthysse hits hard and is tough.

I want to see Ortiz v Rios.

You could kind of tell he knew too couldn't you, as at times he did look outgunned - as Soto was against Matthysse - and he was hurt too, but he obviously just knew if he could hang in there and gut it out and keep coming, it was almost guaranteed Ortiz would fold.

Oh and mock Ortiz too and show bravado, that helped, amazingly, Ortiz ran away like a girl and got punched a couple of times after the mocking

I've said it before, he even quit on his stool after two rounds against Amir Khan in the amateurs.

Jesus I didn't know that, I just read Khan beat him.

Was he even hurt, or just outsped etc?

Ortiz is just a shitty fighter. He has good (but not great) power, and decent handspeed, but that's basically it.

I'm beginning to feel like the Berto fight was a fluke. PEDs or not, I think Berto was gonna hammer him in the rematch.

I am disappointed though. I was looking forward to Ortiz-Canelo. As it turns, that fight would have been less competitive than Chavez-Martinez will be.

Ginger would likely smoke Ortiz within 5.

^^^^Ortiz is on them PEDs too.

Be that as it may, I think Berto would have beaten him too.

Ortiz is just a name guy with a sometimes exciting fighting style.

In Ortiz vs. Berto.....I think it was round 6 or 7 when Berto drops him....you can see in Ortiz face that he wanted out of there...he was ready to quit..but with 15 or so seconds left in the round he lands this left hook out of nowhere that put Berto on his ass...had it not been for that punch/knockdown Ortiz would have quit...IMO..

Boxing is just fucked. I mean, Ortiz is a respected champ, a WBC 147lb champ, and the guy is fucking awful.

Who in the Hell respects Ortiz?

He never really got back respect after he showed his vagina against Maidana.

Oscar is the phoniest person on Earth, but at ringside he HAD to be saying "This dude is a fuckin bum."

Yeah come on Irish, respected? He's not respected at all. He's ranked, and rated, but no one respects him, everyone knows he's a world level quitting scrub.

Bwhahahahaha at the idiots saying Ortiz is good. This guy needs to take up basket weaving of sweater knitting. He's in the wrong profession.

Canelo would have killed this guy.
