Screw the crappy PPV tomorrow night. This is the best card of the weekend. Maynard and Guida in a 5 rounder should be fun. Hopefully their wrestling cancels each other out and they're forced to stand. The co-main event features Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher who have fought twice previously with both bouts being very entertaining. Main Card (on FX): -Gray Maynard (155) vs. Clay Guida (155) -Sam Stout (155.5) vs. Spencer Fisher (156) -Brian Ebersole (170) vs. T.J. Waldburger (170.5) -Ross Pearson (146) vs. Cub Swanson (145.5) Preliminary Card (on Fuel TV): -Hatsu Hioki (145.5) vs. Ricardo Lamas (145) -Ramsey Nijem (156) vs. C.J. Keith (157)* -Rick Story (169.5) vs. Brock Jardine (170.5) -Steven Siler (145.5) vs. Joey Gambino (145) -Nick Catone (185.5) vs. Chris Camozzi (185.5) -Matt Brown (170.5) vs. Luis Ramos (170) Preliminary Card (on Facebook): -Dan Miller (170.5) vs. Ricardo Funch (170.5) -Ken Stone (135.5) vs. Dustin Pague (135)
looking forward to hioki vs. lamas. if lamas wins via upset, that nicely lines up the korean zombie to fight aldo later this fall.
always found Guida boring, but the way he fought tonight was disgraceful. He should have lost a point. Glad he didn't got the nod
Disgraceful? Even though he outstruck Maynard and did more damage? By the way. How ridiculous was the Fisher/Stout decision? MMA is becoming a wrestling competition when it comes to judging.
i think that he clearly won the last 2 rounds, and he probably won one of the first 3. Maynard landed the better harder blows, especially in the clinch. He deserved the nod
I'm with JOM on this one. Guida fought like a punk. I hope no one even tries to compare Guida's running to guys like Edgar or Cruz that effectively use movement. Personally I scored the fight for Maynard simply because the damage done by both guys was minimal but Maynard applied pressure for 25 minutes. This fight was a complete disappointment. Guida was completely out of character. I am glad he got a loss AND more importantly, lost a lot of fans in the process.
And by the way, Hioki looked like crap. He blew his shot against Aldo. It would be cool to Koch versus the Korean Zombie for the next shot at Aldo.
