Manny Pacquiao may be considered a rival of fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather after years of public feuding over a fight that has yet to be scheduled, but the Filipino Christian congressman recently spoke about visiting his fellow pugilist in jail. Pacquiao, 33-year-old Christian boxer, said he was open to the idea of visiting Mayweather, who is currently serving a three-month jail sentence stemming from domestic violence charges. "I'm open [to the idea], I would [consider it]," Pacquiao said about visiting Mayweather in a Boxing Scene report. "He is my brother in Christ and I pray for him that everything will be fine." Although the two have not been friendly over the years with accusations of drug use and lawsuits being filed, Pacquiao seems to have let bygones be bygones recently. The Filipino fighter told the press that he is also praying for 35-year-old Mayweather. "I'm praying for him. I'm not treating him as my opponent, my enemy or anything," Pacquiao revealed before his fight against Bradley. "I'm treating him as my friend, my brother. I'm praying for him that all things will be fine for him." While fans have been waiting for the pair to face one another in a boxing ring, World Boxing Council (WBC) president Jose Sulaiman recently said that he would attempt to bring the bout into fruition. "Take it for sure I will do my best as this is the top fight the world wants to see," Sulaiman told the Manila Standard recently. "[Mayweather] respects the organization and is a friend. So are some of his representatives." Pacquiao has also reportedly been more vocal about wanting the fight with his famed promoter Bob Arum. Although the Filipino fighter has spoken about retirement earlier this year, he has a vested interest in fighting Mayweather for his children. "My kids request me: 'Dad, I want you to retire, but before, you have to fight Mayweather and beat him,'" Pacquiao said in the ESPN report last February. http://global.christianpost.com/new...her-in-christ-floyd-mayweather-in-jail-77460/
It's all like WWE and stuff. They should square upto each other between the bars, maybe throw some stuff at each other etc.
Yeah and when they actually fight each other, we'll have boxing's version of the "Fingerpoke of Doom"
Imagine if Manny showed up to visit Floyd with 50 cent and then went "It was good to see you Floyd..well take care...we gotta go count some money"
Instead of fighting each other they should open up a Pacquiao-Mayweather ministry and go around the world preaching the word of Jesus Christ. I think that's something everybody could be happy with.
I would start my own religion, claiming I had Gold Plates upon which were made inscriptions obliging big fights to be made.
Jeez how long has Manny been a religious nut case like this? No wonder he fell off. Kind of reminds me of Angel Manfreddy losing his edge like two seconds after trading in the devil for the Jesus. Anyway him visiting Floyd might actually piss Floyd off more then ever. It's almost like a move of mockery. Maybe just before Manny ends his visit he can go, oh, I almost forgot and then hand Floyd a cartoon of newports.
When this two finally met in the ring it will be a boring fight that will disappoint all fans. Like the guy that lusted for years for a particular woman and when he finally got her in bed, he realized it was not as good as he thought it will be.
