Anyone else catch Chris Martin's fight on Espn2? The guy is obviously very skilled, with mannerisms reminiscent of JMM. Good timing. Accurate punching. And yet, he's probably not going to reach that summit occupied by the sport's best.

What are some other examples of obviously very skilled fighters who despite their ability haven't reached that elite level?

I remember a cat named Adam "G-Man" Garland back in the early '90's..... He had very good skill, especially a nice, effective jab. Unfortunately, he also received the "Fred G. Sanford" award..... and the "G" was for good riddance when it came to heart!!

I remember hearing Butch Lewis, his own promoter calling him a pussy; behind his back of course.
