I haven't seen this fight, but despite the awful performance, wald pussy still looked impressively quick against Mormeck.

 

I just watched the fight, Wlad looked like...Wlad, and Thompson looked like a fighter looking to collect a career-high payday and retire without really making a serious effort to win.

Not too sure. Wlad was struggling to land the right when Thompson kept his own right out and maintained distance with it. He was doing a good job of turning anti clockwise from Wlad when he'd let his hands go & I think Wlad was nervous about getting countered or at least struggling to time him. Notice he started covering up in a more traditional manner early in the 6th and it let Wlad get allot closer. Im not sure why, I thought maybe he was trying to draw Wlad onto something, but then he basically quit the first time Wlad landed anything maybe so he was just looking for a way out. I very much doubt he made the 'adjustment' by accident so it was a strange one..

 

I think this was the case as well. Wlad is still too worried about getting hit. There was a moment, I forget which round, where Thompson actually landed a shot that looked somewhat solid and Wlad instantly grabbed ahold of him.

My frustration with this guy is he does have the tools to make much shorter work of most of his opposition, but he's so worried about the incoming that he is more cautious than he needs to be.

 

That's it in a nutshell, and that was demonstrated to the extreme against Mormeck, a guy who posed literally no threat whatsoever.

I've written it 1,000 times, but you can't be rationally consistent and like Lennox and hate wald or vice versa. They are essentially the same type of fighter although Lewis was much tougher. Both were bigger stronger and usually faster than their respective opponents, but both were scared to throw, cowardly.

 

False. Lewis fought 'scared' against some fighters but against trash he had no fear of he simply blew them away, quickly; Morrison, Golota, Ruddock etc. He even went after Vitali from the get-go. Wlad, on the other hand, fights the same pussy way in every single fight. Huge difference.

He was probably the most negative/cautious superstar fighter ever until Wlad. Even when he went out aggressively it was after a grey bureaucrat's risk analysis. Wlad's picked up the ball and run out the park & down the street with it but Lewis beget Wlad

 

He still absolutely destroyed people in a way wald pussy could only dream about.

I can't envision any scenario where wald pussy comes out as aggressively as Lewis did against the likes of Ruddock and Golota

Lewis had some negative fights, but compared to wald pussy, his level of aggressiveness was Duran-esque

 

He only destroyed people who posed no threat. Against good fighters, he was just as wald pussyish as wald pussy himself.

 

Ruddock and Golota were among the most important, threatening match-ups of his career... he absolutely leveled both of them

'Definitely'. It's more a vague attitude thing, tbh.....You cant deny he was considered boring right through his career. You almost cant put your finger on why but he just was. I think it's his willingness to be cautious to the point of negativity (and also his general caution in attack) which draws the comparisons to Wlad, even though he actually resorted to it less. There's a similar calculated & careful 'do what you need to' mindset behind what they do.
