    Arguello comes to mind immediately.

Indeed! Pavlik, a guy who seems to have trouble shortening his shots when he's in close.

Pavlik has no trunk movement is why. He is an arm puncher, well arm and back. Arguello twisted from his feet and his arm was just a conduit.

That's a good point. Pavlik wings his shots, or as Foreman would say, he slings them.

That's why I am saying, he must be strong. He really punches with just his upper body.

But yeah Arguello was the master. That guy was handsome and dashing.

True but he cant/wont do anything within arm length. cant even think of when Ive seen him throw an uppercut

Not sure Chico counts actually, his arms always looked short for his height, T-Rex style. He was an awesome infighter, absolutely brutal power from a 6 inch hook with no startup.

    Cupey ?

Nonsense, he has a short left hook. It travels six inches. He is terrified to throw it, but he has the ability to throw short shots. They are so short, there is a chance he hits his own chin pulling back and therefore he has a reluctance throwing the shot. I don't gamble but I heard you can bet self kayo on a wald pussy fight.

  17. Nope.

  18. Riddick Bowe is a perfect example.

An example of you knowing nothing. Riddick Bowe was a sloppy overrated fighter. If the thread was called, big tall guys that negate their height by fighting like an idiot in a sloppy fashion on the inside, then yeah Riddick Blows.

    Wlad's left hook.

  21. Shut up.

Riddick bowe was a tall fighter with long arms who could fight on the inside like a motherfucker!

    Perfect example.

Morales is a solid example. He reminds me a bit of Arguello actually. Mid to long range fighter, but can shorten his shots well and fight on the inside. He has nice uppercuts and decent hooks on the inside. And he has a long reach for his height like Floyd, 72 inches.

  23. I dunno. Against Barrera, he seemed to be losing once they got on the inside. In long to mid range he was beating MAB handily...but not on the inside. I'm basing it off of those fights. Similar thing vs Pacquiao.

Barrera just had his number for some reason, and I also thought both Barrera AND Pacquiao had more success at mid range.

Especially Pacquiao, ironically despite being his size, he can't fight inside at all. He is best when he gets full extension on his shots. In the first fight it was when Morales got wild that he got the worst of it, but there were plenty of occasions up close where he got the better of Pacquiao.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Eric is the best infighter, but he's definitely a rangy guy who could throw short hooks and uppercuts on the inside, and let's face it, in pretty much every fight in his career, he stood and fought inside with his opponent at some point.

  25. I hear you.

Whereas Bowe...fought guys like Holyfield and Cooper on the inside and prevailed.

Saying Bowe doesn't qualify in this thread is coo coo bananas. His failing was he basically refused to do anything else but throw short shots.

According to Free Ike, there's never been a single good fighter in the history of boxing.

Mex just likes to bring up Morales at all opportunities. And he's right to. Most hippity hoppity? Morales! Fastest ever fighters? Morales! Best white heavyweights? Mo-Ra-Les, Mo-Ra-Les!
