i was never high on munoz. he didn't exactly impress the world struggling with kendall grove and losing a decision to okami. it's not like he set the world on fire out grappling maia.
Come on. The dude was 7-1 in the UFC as a middleweight. That's tough to do no matter who you're fighting. And realistically, Okami was, and still is, on most people's top 10 MW list. And Maia certainly was. Additionally, I'm not a big fan of Mark Munoz but he is a very competent middleweight and Weidman walked right through him. It's a huge win and should propel Weidman to the next title shot.
