Sly has claimed I'm a disgusting liar and crazy. I say he's being dishonest. Now keep in mind he didn't take Anthony up on Anthony's bet that he, sly, was not 5ft9 and a half. Sly claimed to be that height although previously he had said 5ft10 (and then later said, "Oh, I was rounding up"). A secure man doesn't need to round up his height. So he could have made $10,000 from the two of us just by backing up his claim of being 5ft9 and a half. He didn't. Now, when I say I believe I'm taller and I'm willing to put $500 on it. He gets insulting, takes shots at my marriage and me personally. By contrast, I say he's being a bit of a bitch and insulting. Now people call me humorless and whatnot, but I have no reason to lie. I don't mind being short. He's not 5ft9 and a half. I think I'm a bit taller. If not, it's really close. :dunno:

It did to the body but it was more his moving backwards when I moved forwards, trying to get my right foot on the outside of his lead left foot. He was constantly moving in-and-out of range, rattling punches off my head. If he's stepping backwards and I happen to snag the end of his foot, I thought it was a trip even though I landed to the body. The punch was not nearly hard enough to knock someone down to the body---it happened because I was moving forwards and he was trying to move back. Then he claimed it was a push. It's been 10 years and I'd still be the first one to say it wasn't legit. His back was to them so they didn't see my foot on his. Regardless, he badly outclassed me in sparring. He's 6ft or so, but he was pretty skinny back then. He's put on a bunch of muscle from weight training since then.
We were cool before the incident. Even Everlast and Greeneyes (forum members back then), said it looked legit at the time, but he's apparently changed his opinion since. Everlast also said to me, "If he gives you any shit over this, just say 'Whose ass was on the canvas?' " Chi-Town had a pretty wild temper, and he claimed he had never been knocked down in sparring. He admitted as much to me back then, saying he got in shit with the cops for flattening his neightbour's tires with a knife after they had some kind of argument. Up until the sparring incident, he was totally cool.
After seeing how buddy has ben with me, phonetap, Hanz, Boss, Steve Dave and others...in terms of how he twists stories to suit himself.....I'm POSITIVE that Chi town didn't get upset just because of that. This is what Buddy here wants us to believe....there is obviously much more to the story. Buddy probably came back saying he knocked him down and that he has no chin. Chi Town probably laughed and ssaid for him to come back and prove it. Buddy probably tried to give the impression of someone who pretends they can fight but were exposed and now are just mad because this canadian exposed them. He was probably then patronizing and said somethign to the effect of "Chi town, it was just a sparring session and a knockdown, why get so mad. There are more important things in life to worry about. Everyone can get knocked down from a good punch" and then added this smilie ---> :dunno: :: Of course this would irritate anyone. Naturally, buddy wouldn't admit any of this...and would act as thouh Chi Town is just irrational, getting upset because of a little slip...and that even Buddy's wife thinks he's crazy.

Maybe that's part of what got him so pissed off? After all that time claiming he'd never been down in sparring, it happened accidentally at the hands of a canuck who he invited to come stay with him. Do you remember how much people used to tease him about it? He would get really pissed off about it. Perhaps some of his bitterness was deferred anger towards me because I was the one who gave them the ammunition to use on him. He used to claim he was a boxing God with long luxurious hair, and he was definitely lying about that. When we met him, he was almost bald on top.

If you left it like that, things would ave remained cool. Things went sour when you decided to take the discussion in a different direction. It's right there in the thread....the posts that sent the discussion into smacktalk. Own it dude. Which was fine. I was willing to be accommodating about that towards him. He's changed my opinion of him now though. I went to an effort to be polite for the first little while, and we see what I got in response. After that, I did get sarcastic because it just seems like such a stupid thing to get insulted about. Initially I was friendly, but he crossed a few lines. I don't want to get dragged into further melodrama, so I'm just going to wait and see if he shows. Based on the way he's behaved the last 4-5 days, my guess is he doesn't show and then types up a storm.
Buddy and Sly need to meet and work out their differences. There's a huge air of unrequited love between these two. "You were supposed to meet me in February....you're gonna back out of our August shag...I mean hookup....ummmm...I mean meeting." Get 'er done already.
