    Khan-Garcia Related, Obviously...

CLEARLY, Khan was the More TALENTED Fighter, as he Illustrated Early Doors...THEN, his Undeniable LACK of Punch Resistance Ultimately FAILED him...

What Other Fighters Fit Into this Category; GOOD/Potentially GREAT Fighters who Simply LACKED the Beard &/or Overall Punch Resistance to Be BETTER than they Were???....

LOK I'll eat your asshole alive

Brother REED I don't know I'd even say he was the more talented...he came in with hands low and not protecting his chin...

Khan was OUTCLASSING Garcia Overall, Until his "Glass NECK" Failed him, Brother LOK....Yes, Garcia was Landing More & MORE Shots as the Fight Progressed, but he Still Lost EVERY Minute of EVERY Round, Up Until he Hit, Hurt & Dropped Khan w/the Neck/Mandible Shot...

A lot of boxers do the same thing. Low hands and chin out wide. Khan was cocky. He probably thought "I survived against Maidana so my chin is solid."

Zora Folley wasn't a "could have been great" fighter, but he was sure skillful. Excellent boxer, good puncher, but his chin was shaky. He had plenty of heart, though.

Floyd Patterson was a hell of a boxer, very talented and it wasn't always easy to find his chin, but when you did, he was in trouble. I often wonder if maybe he would have been an all-timer as a Light Heavyweight?

Carl "The Truth" Williams could outjab anyone, he was a fine boxer, but again, very dodgy whiskers...

Interestingly enough, I have named all heavyweights there without any intention of doing so

I think outclassing is too broad of a term to describe what was going on.

Khan IMO won the first 2 rounds clearly, but lets not pretend Danny was being dominated. Garcia was countering alot in between Khan's flurries, and in the 3rd round, he was clearly landing the cleaner, more damaging shots.

But yeah Khan's punch resistance is one of the worst I've seen. Just doesn't react well at all when he gets hit.

David Reid was another guy who just didn't react well to being hit either. Really bad chin.

And post Pavlik, Jermain Taylor is another guy who comes to mind.

Khan wasn't outclassing SHIT! HBO was trying to paint it that way, but he wasn't.

He was winning, but Garcia was being very competitive.

With Khan's shitty stamina, even if Garcia didn't catch him, he would have likely taken over in the late rounds.

Roger Mayweather was the guy that immediately popped into my head.

I always thought Bert Cooper could have been a decent HW if he had his adopted daddy's chin.

Howard Davis, Jr. - Very skilled, but his chin was a liability.

    perfect example

He had everything else, great right hand, excellent speed and skills... but, especially at 130, the chin was a dud

Williams looked to have everything a great heavy needed...until he got hit.

I agree on Patterson...some of his chin issues came from fighting at heavy instead of light-heavy.

Surprised no one has mentioned Zab, and Mark Breland yet.

We're saving that for the 'talented fighters who are purse snatching jive asses' thread.

Good call on Breland by X

He had everything except a chin

Part of Zab's problem was his over-reliance on his affleticizm... I think he would have been better served with a different trainer... He could have been a better boxer, in my opinion

khan really is a total bellend. hopefully he gets knocked out in his next fight as well. after the fight carl froch said he should give it up and trashk responded by saying froch was jealous that he (trashk) was the bigger and better fighter.

Khan wasn't outclassing Garcia. Not in the least.

He beat him with handspeed, but was getting caught with sharp counters.

Wlad does not have "Zero" punch resistance. Lets be honest here. He can take some punishment.

Agreed, there was no outclassing going on. Khan was out handspeedingz him, but Garcia starting to time him with counters, and find openings in exchanges. Khan undoubtedly won the first 2 rounds, but Danny started to do better in round 3, his gameplan was to land a hard counter and he did it.

Herol fits the profile, albeit at a ridiculously high level. Herol's chin let him down so often.
