If Wlad is as bad in the chin and heart department as he was claimed to be, then the opposition wasn't really overmatched to begin with, was it?
Schwarze basically means "nagger" in a particular context. I think he was saying something else. I'll ring Gordon Taylor to complain and have these Klitschkos banned from England.
pretty sure he referred to Schwarzenegger. Oh and by the way it's stupid to presume his chances against Lewis would have been better if he let his hands go like he did in those videos. Lewis would have landed something huge in between. He would have a much better chance to not get KOed and therefore to win with his current style.
You are missing the point somewhat, Lewis could have landed something massive in between for sure. But if Wlad opened up, Lewis could have been in far more trouble. Its like Feebles said of Haye vs Wlad, if Haye had just gone for it, shit or bust, his chances would have been far far better. Young, dumb, hell-for-leather Wlad always had a minimum of a punchers chance against any heavyweight that ever lived. When he uncorks his left hook, most people it hits are in a world of trouble. His right hand is a load of bollox, its a decent punch, nothing more. Wlads left hook is dynamite though.
No chance. He'd have had to wait for Wlad to slow down, and this is assuming he got through Wlad's opening barrage first. {Which I think he would, his chin was not so bad and his defence was decent} Grant had a fraction, a mere iota, of the offensive potential of Wlad. Grant could never muster the same sort of firepower. Also, Wlad tended to unravel when hit back, but Grant came into the Lewis fight already fraught and stressed. He fought like what he is- a rank amateur with a great physique and not much more. People forget that both Purritty and Brewster had to absorb a lot before they got their chance. Purrity was 25lbs heavier than Wlad, a former University of Texas {EP} defensive lineman, a seriously strong lump, not some fat fuck. Sanders, stylistically, bore no resemblance to Lewis. I really think Wlad would have gotten his hands going far sooner against Lewis. Not saying Wlad would have beaten Lewis, but the notion he performs like Grant is just not accurate.
I don't miss the point I just disagree. I know what you mean, but I think chinwise Lewis was still a bit better. Although it's very debatable. Lewis had the lunge and clinch game down to the point, too - so you dunno if that would benefit Wlad as much as I think.
Well, in any case, I think Grant landed one big right on Lewis, that was it. I can see Wlad land more. Grant was pure shite. And, he had nowhere near the power and strength a man of his relative mass should have had.
How Grant got up from that massive right hand at the end of the 1st round I do not know. That would have taken out many a heavyweight.
Yep. Even an unmotivated fat Lennox probably beats him 8-9/10 times. However Wlad would be considered a big fight no matter what point of their careers so there would no chance of that happening.
I don't get all this "wald p. used to fight aggressive" crap. He fights basically the same then as he does now.. boring and pussy-like. Back then he just fought crappier comp that allowed him the appearance of being more aggressive, then he started stepping up in comp, got his chin cracked a few times but he fights the same boring ways he always has.
:: Axel Schulz wasn't stopped by Botha, Moorer or George Foreman, but Wlad beat the living shit out of him and put him into retirement. Foreman was actually stripped of his title for refusing to rematch Schulz. 9 years after Wlad beat the living crap out of Monte Barrett, David Haye barely managed to match the same performance. People like to deny it, but Wlad used to move his hands a lot more and used to be much more entertaining and registered some very good wins over opponents common to fighters deemed far better/more entertaining/impressive than he was. Considering he was only 24 at the time, his win over Byrd, who had lost just once at that juncture, and would not lose again until he faced Wlad in 2006, was a very very good win. He basically just let his hands go all night and kept punching even when he was very clearly winded in the later rounds. He fought every round like he was behind on the cards. As I've said before, there is a lot to dislike about the current version, but that doesn't permit revisionism either.
You couldn't be more wrong. Back then he fought everyone moderately aggressively, until he got KO'd, poor comp or not, he didn't fight like a clutching faggot, terrified of getting hit, jabbing and holding anytime the opponent gets within 3 feet of him. Now he fights everyone like a terrified clutching pussy, even Mormeck who posed literally no threat at all. The difference is night and day, I have no idea how you can suggest otherwise :dunno:
Nope. Wlad was much more aggressive earlier in his career. But then he got hit....which changed everything and wlad pussy was born. Some Wlad fans like to reference the Mercer fight as an impressive performance, despite Mercer being finished as a good fighter at that time, but now that performance looks even better because if wald pussy was fighting that same half-dead Mercer right now, it would be yet another peck and grab performance.
Even at that, he was still moving his hands freely as recently as the first Brewster fight. The first 8 years of his pro-career, he was entertaining.
I disagree. His fights throughout his career have NEVER failed to disappoint (except the ones where he gets KTFO'd). Even the "action-packed" fights like against punching bag Ray were pretty damn boring.
Maybe, I need to take a break. I am so sick of people trying to be Contrarian. I am someone who often is not with the majority, but I back it up. It annoys the shit out of me when people say absurd things just to be different. Wlad used to straigh up blitz people and now he gently caresses them and holds them in his arms. It is the polar opposite!!!!! Fuck you motherfuckers. It takes brains to be a Contrarian. Leave it to me. MikE and d-Man should shut the fuck up.
