260 is a lot man, what are you talking about? That's a very respectable benchpress, especially if you're repping it

Depends. A 5'5" (at this point, Sly's height could be anywhere from 5'5" to 5'9") 160 lb guy who is ripped might be able to put up 300 lbs.

260 repping is respectable. 260 one time for a normal size man isnt a lot. Lets be serious.

that being said, i was responding to 5-5 sly not being able to do it.

You are one bullshit artist. Either you are full of shit or they count 260 kilograms or some shit in Puerto Rico. 260 is a decent amount to lift even once.

Reading Anthony's post made me curious about this, so I read a bunch of different things about bench pressing. I can't even remember the last time I benched anything... maybe in high school, when I weighed 60 pounds, LOL

Anyway, it seems that the average man can bench press roughly 160 pounds ONCE. Now, obviously that's an average, so it takes in all kinds of people of different sizes and experience with formal weight lifting. Still, that's 100 pounds less than what Anthony is basically describing as routine and unremarkable, and it is ONE rep. Many people have no idea how to properly do the exercise, which I am sure might bring the average down a little, but I don't think it would drive it down 100 pounds.

Perhaps in Anthony's immediate experience, he is around a lot of guys who are serious weight training enthusiasts. In such an environment, 260 probably isn't a huge deal. However, the facts seem to be that for the vast majority of men, that is a shitload to lift.

I really have no idea, as I have never tried anything like that personally. All of my working out has been of the hard labor variety where "weight training" consists of hauling around incredibly awkward and heavy things in a manner that does little for you except hurt your back.
