If you keep your spine arched and are not genetically predisposed to injuries, your spine should be fine. I like to do a combination of outdoor lifting and weightroom training with free weights.

I dont consider 260 max bench press is alot. But lets be clear. I was never a hardcore weight lifter. I went to a Gym with Hardcore weight lifters who were maxing 300 to 350. Not repping, just maxing. Repping for them would be like 250 and maybe about sets of 5. So i am just going by my own experience.

THAT Being said, sly is a 5-5 160 pound midget. There is no way the m an maxes 260. And i dont even consider that much, based on what i have seen.

If people here say 260 is good for a max bench, then i learned something. Im just going by what i have seen.

    my spine is fine

it's the various muscles surrounding it that are perma-fucked from years of doing that work

I don't do that anymore, thank god.

That's what I figured. To guys who do that stuff all the time, it's not much, but the majority of people wouldn't get that off the bar... that's a lot of weight to lift in that confined space (which, of course, is the point:laugh11: ... I'm a fucking idiot)

90% of men can't even benchpress their own bodyweight, let alone 260 lbs. If you can bench 260 lb even once and are lean, you almost certainly have a physique that people will take notice of.

Also, being short usually makes benching easier if anything. And a lean 160 lbs at 5'5" is pretty damn jacked.

Sly would be whupped at the bench although 260kgs is not bad at all for his weight.

I'm pretty sure nobody on this board can bench 260kg.

Lol! You are quite correct, my good man - fucked up on the weight measurements. 260 is respectable - it's like lifting a prime, Jonah Lomu. I'd love to lift the magical 300 lbs but I'm still 30lbs off the hallowed 6 wheels.

Back when he was getting ready for fights, I heard Terry Norris would be about 160 and be able to bench 350. If that's true, that is amazing.

I've never done any weightlifting, but yeah 260 for a normal, average sized guy sounds a hell of a lot.

That's like lifting Lummox or Jameel McCline, a huge heavyweight.

I would have guessed most people would be able to bench their bodyweight, apart from say 250 pound fatties, obviously.

But you're average, reasonably in shape guy, I would guess their bodyweight.

    sly isnt normal sized tho.

What is a normal sized, in shape man, 175?

260 seems a lot for an average guy, using nothing but arm strength.

Being that Sly is a toned, athletic, 5'5 Stallion - I'm surprised he can only bench 280, I would have guessed at least 320.

Nah, for Sly to bench 320, he'd have to be a lot more bulky. Guys who do 300+ are big stocky dudes. Sly works out more for definition. He's built like a runner.
