guerrero is another logical guy for broner to fight next year although i believe he's up at welter chasing cash
Guerrero is an overrated clown. If he had stayed at 135, Broner would push his shit in. I'm not sure I'd favor Guerrero over Rios, let alone Broner.
Broner is refreshing at least, because he actually has SKILLS to go along with legit power and handspeed. He's not a craftless, thoughtless amateur like Khan, and he doesn't rely on his head like Bradley. I think it's time as boxing fans to hop on his bandwagon. He has the crossover potential to become a star, and to keep the sport in the mainstream once Floyd and Manny retire.
Broner definitely looked sharper and more technically sound here than he has previously. It was a good performance. He's really, really annoying but sometimes funny.
You really think so? I don't. Broner is a big, strong 130 pounder with a good punch, but I think 130 is the one weight where Floyd looked like a puncher, his single shots consistently did damage. I think Floyd was not only much better, but hit harder too.
broner hasnt really fought anyone there so its not as easy to say. mayweather jr was never much more than 138lbs for most of his super feather bouts. broner has probably been 10lbs more than that his last few
Screw Broner for being such an immature idiot and screw HBO and his lackey handlers for encouraging it. Oh, he's really bringing in fans and selling himself by having a rapper walk in with him. Oh, he's very self-aware by not having a clue about how fucking stupid he looks posting pictures of twinkies on his twitter and then not acknowledging how bad it looks when he can't make weight. Oh, look at how clever and funny his 22 year old ass is by doing a fake marriage proposal after the fight with a girl who apparently is not the mother of his 4 children and then having her brush his hair. Yeah, that's hilarious. He's a very good fighter, that girl is a knockout, and maybe he didn't pay a dime to have that rapper walk in with him, but right now I am looking forward to the day Broner is stretched cold and if you have to bet on a guy who is going to end up penniless in the future, I'll bet on Broner.
Wow this might be the second time I've ever agreed with mikE :bears: Broner is a total cunt, it's something that is simply impossible not to agree on. I'm still pissed off the fight went ahead, that arrogant little cunt needed to be taught a lesson.
Come on dude. He's 22 and just out-grew the division. :: What a punk Broner is. Shame on everyone for letting the fight happen. Broner is now atop my P4P biggest douche bag list.
Fuck Broner. But....its not about Broner. Its HBO. Fuck HBO and the shitty threads they run through their $59.99 needles and the poxy thimbles they use to get it done.
exactly, Broner is far from white in this fiasco, but the real culprit are HBO and the SAC who fails to properly protect the fighters in these cases
"Well Spoken in a hood kind of way"......thats like "well hung in an asian kind of way". For once, I agree with Mike here......Broner should not be getting these passes, no fighter should. The weights are set and agreed for a reason. Part of it is sporting. Part of it is safety. Broner comes in heavy, then gets rid of the guy, then says the guy wasn't on his level. Well duh. If he gravitates to 135 and stays there, then I can put this down to his being too big and he got caught out. Somehow, I doubt it. Years and years ago, Corralles got a late call for a vacancy on a shitty card out in Lincoln Nebraska and he dropped 15lbs to make the weight for a fight with John Brown. He wasn't even scheduled to fight in the first place, he could have come in at any weight. The thinness of fighters on the ground is allowing the few remaining big fish to basically act as they see fit.
So far, Broner's supposed ascent is unremarkable and very typical of the way HBO fighters are built up with undersized and overmatched opposition, and exaggerated accounts of his achievements and dominance. At this stage, Broner is just another HBO hype-job.
Lots of Broner hate in here. Means he's doing something right. I'm excited to watch this guy's career.
Oh he missed the weight. Boo fuckin hoo. It was unprofessional of him, but get over it already. Size had ZERO to do with the outcome last night. Broner woulda kicked the shit outta Escobedo if he was 10 pounds lighter. It wasn't a Gatti-Gamache type of advantage either. Escobedo came into the ring unofficially only 5 pounds lighter than Broner.
Bam Bam would put Broner under huge pressure. Escobedo and Perez never even came to fight. Rios would have at least a 40% chance to beat Broner.
