Adrien Broner is never at a loss for words. The brash, young, undefeated Cincinnati boxer has already given himself more nicknames than Apollo Creed.

I had heard about Broner - with all of his talk, it's hard not to hear about him. I listened to the "experts" make their comparisons of "The Problem" to the sport's pound-for-pound best, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I read the reviews. I watched the videos. I analyzed the action. But, I just couldn't buy into all the hype without seeing this 22-year-old phenom in person.

So, I traveled from one river city to another and spent the evening ringside at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday for an HBO televised event. And after seeing him live, I can say - with no reservations - that Broner is the "real deal."

Broner scored a fifth-round TKO victory over Vicente Escobedo in what can't be described as anything but impressive.

After winning every round on every judges scorecard and connecting on 44 percent of his punches, Broner further cemented himself among the rising super stars of the sport.

And Escobedo is no pushover. The 30-year-old former Olympian, came into the fight as the?WBO's No. 1 rated junior lightweight contender sporting a record of 26-3 with 15 knockouts.

"Vicente is a world-class fighter," Broner said after the fight. "I can't take anything away from him. But he didn't hit me with anything significant. I make all my work easy. I came in here and did what Adrien Broner does: Win."

The 5-foot-7 Broner displayed what are arguably the fastest hands in the business. His lightning-quick punches came from every conceivable angle and were able to reach their intended target before Escobedo had even a split second to react.

Before the beginning of the fifth, and final, round, Broner was heard telling his corner that he was going to walk Escobedo down.

He did just that.

As if he couldn't have finished his opponent off at any moment he chose, Broner closed the deal by thrown accurate combinations that left the challenger dazed and confused.

But, Broner isn't all offense. He employs the now Mayweather-made-famous "shoulder roll" defense to near perfection. Landing a solid blow on Broner is as difficult as it is getting out of the way of his own shots.

"He definitely felt stronger," Escobedo said of Broner following the fight. "I felt his power. He's fast and hard to hit. He's too quick.

"He talks, but he backs it up. I felt that I could hang in there and beat him. I really felt that, but, he was much quicker and much faster and he did have some power."

Hence Broner's nickname (or at least one of his alias', e.g. 'Mr. HBO') "The Problem."

The name fits. Broner's gives his opponents more problems than they can handle.

For all the talk - and there's plenty of it, like his comment at the post-fight press conference, "I am Mr. HBO; I told them just to change their logo to my face" - Broner also walks the walk.

Despite the pre-fight fiasco with weight issues - the bout's status was in doubt until 5 p.m. Saturday after Broner failed to make the 130-pound limit at Friday's weigh-in - Broner has a bright future in the sport. Maybe the brightest of them all.

With a move up to lightweight (135 pounds) now a sure thing, he has a new crop of opponents who will become witnesses to his immense talents.

"The task only gets bigger from here,"?Broner said. "We're moving on to lightweight, and you know we're going to give them all (trouble)."

Broner is already talking about them. He called out Antonio Demarco, Juan Manuel Marquez and Brandon Rios before leaving the ring Saturday.

And while the talk won't stop there, they will likely also adopt Escobedo's take on the matter: Broner talks the talk, but he also walks the walk.

Honestly though, Neil looks 5'10 next to Duran. Looks about a 3 inch height difference. Though Duran is leaning in a bit and Neil is standing straight. I'll give Neil at least 5'9 1/2. 5'9 AND A HALF.
