So who was the fastest handed white fighter?

A relatively little-known pug from Wisconsin called Al Andrews. Little footage of him exists but he had 40-something wins and 5 KO's, and, perhaps less reliably, he was reported as being very very fast. Another guy called Ralph Dupas who had very light feet and fast hands. Tommy Morrison. Oh and how could I forget, Chuck Wepner, the very figure of a man.

It's one of the lasted fads and trends which has surfaced in recent years, apparently to be White these days you have to burn up at the mere mention of sunlight, like a Vampire. But Vampires come from Romania, so that rules them out.

 

Weird, I've never heard that one before. I've never heard anyone refer to French/Italians/Spanish as anything but white.

What else could they even be called? "Latin Europeans"? ::

 

Northern Italians are unquestionably white, Southern Italians are a bit more ambiguous. Traditionally, Italians in general were not considered "white" in North America until the mid 20th century and were basically considered inferior beings/severely discriminated against up to the 1940s or so.

 

Ambiguous in what way? Are Somali's black? Or Arabs?

Race has more to do with blood type, hair-type, susceptibility to certain diseases, bone density etc than it has to do with skin tone.

 

Wow, that is weird. In Yurp, they are considered white, I've never heard any different at all.

I know Southern Italians are darker etc, and Sicilians, I thought that was mainly climate, a bit like the South of France, they are way more olive skinned down there than Paris for example.

Iranians are white, but many don't consider them as such. Same with Turks. Southern Italians are darker complected than Northern Europeans.. if you consider Sicilians (mixed with Moor/Arab blood) white, what about Afghans? Pakistanis? All of these people are Caucasians, just of varying shades. Northern Italians have historically discriminated against Neapolitans and Sicilians for not being "white."

 

Nah, the Turks are Turkic Central Asians. Sure, some of them are as good as White, but its just some. Same with the Iranians. You've got some who are basically Whites, especially in facial features. The discrimination thing in Italy is more complex than that. A lot of it has to do with the South being pretty fucking messed up for myriad reasons, but I digress.

 

Not sure about Azeris, but afaik Persian Iranians are considered to be as white as any European. Are Greeks white? There is at least a degree of ambiguity in a lot of instances, hence my comment about Willie Pep.

Oot of the people you listed loaded, I'd say Persians are the only ones who generally look white.

I think Greeks are generally considered white too. I've known a few Greeks, and they vary, but generally look a lot whiter than Turks that's for sure.

But I would definitely pick Calzaghe.

 

People will hate to admit it, but it probably is Calzaghe, especially if we're talking P4P. He had proper quick hands for a super middleweight.

 

Calzaghe was fast, faster than a lot of people give him credit for. Bute was thought to be fast, but he was treacle compared to Joe Calzaghe.

 

Italians aren't white, for the most part they look jewish or indian

 

Calzaghe doesn't have faster hands than say someone like Malignaggi. To me, Calzaghe was effective because of the combination of above-average handspeed, above-average reflexes, and way above-average stamina.

He was effective because he could adapt, mid-fight, probably one of a handful of fighters of our generation that could do it. A very tough, smart, hard fighter, albeit a complete cunt of a man.

 

Why dont you consider Turks to be white? Many Turks are whiter than Italians. I for example have a milky white skin and rosy red cheaks.
