I know and its getting tiresome and I don't like to correct anyone.......its just tired seeing thiS sortT of thinG all the timE :dunno:
You have, on numerous occasions, gotten your little pantieS in a twist over the years when people have correctly pointed out that amateur boxing bears little resemblance to the real thing Don't deny it, you dense twat speaking of transparent changes in topic, what is this mommy nonsense?
see, stupid fuck, if I had said amateur boxing was exactly the same as professional boxing then I wouldn't have a problem with your comment. But I've never said it. I've said comments that you disagreed with and based upon what I know about you I hope I continue to. I'm not going to debate with you because you are too fucking stupid to debate so you'll have to find a surrogate, but if you find where I said 'exactly the same', then I'll retract and give you a chance. mommy comments hit a nerve, fuckwad? Good.
fuckwad:laugh11: how could they hit a nerve? they are nonsensical. I don't even know what they are supposed to mean. anyway... don't get into semantics, cunt. You going to deny that you have traditionally (as is your wont) been the only person on this site dumb enough to consistently argue that Amateur boxing is not much different from the professional game? You denying that? Satire doesn't require exactitude, that's why it is "satire" Did you ever say "It's exactly the same"? no. However you have groped like a blinded homosexual in a bath house looking for as many links between the two as possible. Don't lie about it. Own your obnoxious, contrarian faggotry. Both sports take place in a ring and the participants wear gloves... that is where the similarities end. After that, they are as alike as Baseball and Cricket.
Mike isn't wrong, per se. If you are a crap amateur, you can still be a great pro. If you are a great amateur, you've got every chance of being a great pro, often a better chance than a shitty amateur. What Mike says make sense- it it didn't, then why is the lack of an amateur career so often cited as being the reason why a certain fighter didn't go very far, or cited as the reason why a certain fighter going so far is so impressive..."considering their lack of amateur experience"
I think the amount of elite fighters with great amateur backgrounds compared to elite fighters with average or minimal amateur backgrounds is not much more than 50%. In some cases it's actually a hindrance. Look at a guy like Khan, the amateur style is so fucking embedded in his tiny, limited mind, he still can't quite escape it after some solid years as a fairly high profile pro. Of course a successful amateur career is a good start, but it absolutely does not mean you'll make the transition into a successful pro. The 2 sports are very different.
Khan wasn't a good amateur, that's one way of interpreting that. Also, let's not confuse the issue of guys who eschew an amateur career in the traditional sense {eg the Mexicans} and go straight into the pro game at a very early age. It seems to be the case that amateurs who had smart rather than successful amateur careers will go on to become good pros.
Nah... Spence's 1st Fight Could've Been More AESTHETICALLY Pleasing, but he Still DOMINATED....Solid Win, but he's ALOT Better than he Showed Himself to Be, in his 1st Olympic Bout...Dude DIGS to the Body, has a Nice Southpaw Lead AND a Brutal Southpaw Hook... REED:fightme:
Ammy Boxing IS Morpoing Into Something of that Ilk, Brother Mex....NOT Looooooooooong Ago, there was a "World Series of Boxing", where AMATEUR Guys Fought Shirtless and w/NO Headgear, yet Still Managed to MAINTAIN their "Amateur" Status... It was Mainly a Vehicle for NON Olympic Level Ammy's, but it Could GROW Intso Something Bigger... REED:fightme:
Having 2nd rate boxing at the Olympics devalues the Olympics & having young boxers train with a mind to fighting with these rules & equipment is fucking up boxing. Everybody loses.
......... but pro boxing is to blame too. They offer the mad signing-on fee's for "Olympic Superstars".
yeah they look like the 14Oz adidas Sparrers that I own. I tried to hit a heavy bag once with those gloves and nearly ruined both wrists. Horrible horrible pillow gloves, good for fuck all except Olympic Box-Fencing. You would have to hit like an almighty mother to get any use out of the glove, because there is 2" of foam. Only the heaviest-handed fighter could do better than bounce off his man's head with them.
mikE actually seems like the kind of guy who might give his mum a couple of slaps, upon asking her a question about sanctioning bodies and her getting it wrong. :ant:
Interesting, didn't know that at all  I wonder how they managed to still classify it as amateurs, without headgear.
