If you watch Teddy Atlas weekly on FNF, you'll know that 50% for pro fight decisions is pretty typical for what he cries robbery on.

If you don't, and if you aren't watching him now, but just are batting 10/20 on your feed, it's still a fairly irresponsible statement to make without clarifying how few fights you've seen when you make it.

Russo, who is an annoying twat, wanted to fight, just for the first two rounds, in which he fought as a WSB guy would, hands down, fast, compact, looking for power shots. Once he was in the lead, he acted the cunt, and the callow young Cuban didn't have the experience to deal with him.

Distinction needs to be made between robbery and the Russo fight. Russo won, but in poor fashion.

No. Russo was legitimately in front throughout, but the Cuban kid needs to grow a brain and stop getting suckered into clinches. Even a 2 point addition for Russo- one of my least favourite fighters- would have seen the Cuban lose by one. Cuban did precious little work in the two openers. Horrid style by Russo once he knew he was winning- the irony of it that had he fought proper, he might have beaten his man by more, not less.

 

BULLSHIT...if he was outside he would bounce around jumping in with one punch at a time, fake ass Prince Hamed. Those punches missed he would holding on like John Ruiz...and then he will make like he was the one being held..

Just about. The Mexican landed a vicious left hook downstairs and Nevin did the smart thing and took a knee- very mature decision. Liked how he didn't hold, held his nerve and kept punching. Mexican came very very close to turning it around in the last minute but Nevin did well. Finally, a medal for Ireland.

 

He nailed the Cuban with two identifiable scoring punches in the last- Russo was cheating within the rules, i.e. the referee didn't warn him. But the Cuban was thick as fuck. Shuffle in, let your hands go and don't stop throwing. He let himself get suckered in every time. Yes, he did trick the referee, but he also worked the Cuban over on the inside too. Russo is a blonde fag but he's a WSB fighter and knows all the tricks. Cubans need to wise up to this.

In any event, the Cuban got the benefit of a DQ in his own fight- a fight I felt he deserved to win on DQ.

 

He should have been warned. If he had been warned, he would have copped on. Savvy ugly performance by Russo. Horrible performance by the referee.

Women's boxing is dire. The exception should be Katie Taylor, who is legitimately excellent from the little I've seen. Looking forward to her bout and praying she doesn't get jobbed.

Jonas is actually not bad at all. Better than most female boxers I've seen, including pros.

Taylor is good. Bit wild, she could be more crisp and compact, but she can undoubtedly fight.

 

She was OK, yeah

 

Taylor was a bit worse than I expected, to be honest, given how highly she is regarded. But judged as a female boxer, you'd have to say she's good.
