The only thing that was a Total Recall at the box office is that any movie competing against The Dark Knight Rises in its first three weeks is that it will be a Wimpy Kid having dog days. To no one's surprise The Dark Knight Rises continued its reign with $36.4 million while the scifi remake Total Recall underperformed with $26.1 million, which is less than what the original did 22 years ago taking in consideration the adjusted for inflation numbers. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days also underperformed in the third place with a mere $14.7 million which is substantially less than its two previous entries debuts. The film got a cinemascore average of "A-" but while audiences enjoyed it a lot it will hardly be enough to match the final numbers of the last film. Ice Age: Continental drift took the fourth place with $8.4 million and it is still way below the last film's numbers at this particular time. Ben Stiller's The Watch continues its descend in the fifth place with $6.3 million, another 50.2% decline from last week for a lousy total of $25.3 million. The scifi comedy will most likely not recoup its $68 million budget. On the other hand TED added $5.4 million and passed the $200 million mark in box office grosses ($203. 4m) making it the fourth R rated comedy to reach that milestone. It will most likely beat The Wedding Crashers in a few days to grab the third spot in the All Time chart. Step Up Revolution landed on its back with a 54.8% decline and falling from the fourth spot to #7 with 5.3 million. This is the lowest grossing film of the entire franchise (and I hope the last one). The Amazing Spiderman also continues underperforming with $4.3 million in the eight spot. While the film has grossed so far a healthy $250 million, it is still way below its previous three films and will finish its run below the $300 million mark...something unheard of for the Sam Raimi Spidey films. Brave made $2.8 million for a $233 million total in the ninth spot. And finally Magic Mike finished in the 10th position with $1.3 million.

The Dark Knight Rises is a runaway blockbuster, but its numbers continue below those of The Dark Knight. In terms of box office grosses it will not match the numbers of Marvel The Avengers (a cool $100 million difference at this same stage). Still it is performing incredibly great for a third chapter of a trilogy which historically uses to underperform.

Dunno, but those who watched it gave it a "C" cinemascore grade.

Holy shit, I got duped by the trailer. I thought it was a plain comedy film.
