plot turns, mate. everything was plot in this movie. now and then they pause for about a line and say something supposedly deep about sacrifice/heroism/fear, but usually it's just in service of yet another melodramatic plot development. what's the story here? who is this bruce wayne character and what emotional trajectory is he going through? (none - he's a tortured martyr, that's it, and he's stayed that way since batman begins.) the whole league of shadows/ras al ghul thing, what's their motivation and why does it matter? what the hell was going on in this movie? the reactor's being shipped round the city in a big truck but fox can reconnect the core and defuse it or something and the board of directors are hiding and maggie gylenhall didn't actually love bruce and bane put him in a prison in central asia and scarecrow makes them walk on the ice and about a hundred other things happened, none of which actually had any point. watched it today in a sold out screen and everyone wakled out thinking the same thing - what the hell was going on in that movie and why should we care?

 

I get what you're saying dude, and you make perfect sense. They did not dig deep enough into each plot point. At the same time everything did connect, but it left the story feeling cluttered, like you were taking on too much info too quickly and not getting the chance to injest the story.

Ledger's outstanding performance wasn't the only thing missing here, The Dark Knight Rise's story didn't flow and connect together as well as The Dark Knight's did.

that daggett guy was completely pointless....the other stuff had to be in the movie though, what would you have changed?

 

Slowed it down, longer scenes, removed some of the elements completely.

 

it wasn't that complex as you're making it out to be though...were you stoned??

i'd remove that crap with those rich guys that bane turned against, but thats about it

then at the end i'd make the ending really depressing and miserable

i give the movie a 8 or 8.5/10 overall i think

 

NOT bad...I saw it today not as good as The Dark Knight...but better than the rest....
