 but big josh did just edge this fight, imo. The kazak was tricky enough and if he used his advantages more, he could have won, but he tired and big josh had the eye of the tiger look in his eye

Didnt see this Joshua fight but he seems like sad example of recent olympic SHW medallists with no particularly exciting pro prospects....

Taylor has been the biggest thing in Womens boxing for some time now. She needs to cash out, and it won't happen in the amateurs. In my opinion, she has very few wrinkles to her game, so strike while the iron is hot, make your cash, and get out.

:scratcher: Big Josh will need to get the look of the sheep out of his eye first.

Joshua is going nowhere in the pro games. His feet are molasses.....in any event, another jobbing aside, that Azeri has his measure. Did he win?

Perhaps but the pro women's game is such a ghetto, is there really much there to be gained? maybe some title fights in the aviva?

    .........and for two reasons.

    1. The current Fury/Price/Chisora/Haye gang are way out in front of him and he will lack a decent pool of talent to push up against.

    2. He's shit.

yeah he won, but can't remember the score, was close enough. He's too heavy on his feet and quite pedestrian. He has a good dig on him though and his chin seems to hold up well.........for now.

O2 in Dublin, build up some sham rivalries, like little-miss-folded-arms and the like, get her onto the undercard of the next Bernard Done In One and have raucous cider parties down at the Dublin Port, make sure you have your £2 when you are going through Sean Moore Park for de bridge.

Anyone see Chenko bash another Boricua? How did he look this time?

Judging by the scores of this one, and the Sanchez fight, he's obviously not as dominant as in Beijing. I wonder if it's the weight class or opponents or both.

The Azeri must have beaten Cammarelle then so.......the Azeri, amazingly, isn't any slower on his feet than Joshua. I knew they wouldn't allow Dychko to win fuck all in London, but he'll be back.

After seeing all her fights in the Olympics, to be honest she's not as good I expected. She scraped by her recent 2 opponents.

Technically she looks pretty limited, fairly basic. I think the main difference between her and a lot of female fighters is she's just a bit more scrappy and ballsy.

The big Italian lump vanquished Magomedrasul.

Must admit I find Cammarelle quite amusing.

Joshua is probably just about good enough to beat the big scrappy wop.

Agreed with both your posts - on the basis of this tournament, she may have passed her peak 1-2 years ago. It maybe naivete but i thnk theres more nobility and depth of quality in the women's amateur game, the though of sold out hunky dory promotions against tough(wo)man oppoents is depressing

As basic as Joshua is, hope he sticks it to the bequiffed amateur-professional

He looked far better in that fight, seemed to me like it was the real final as the Korean who won in the other semi final doesn't look in their league.

Joshua looked decent, don't know why all the hate about his is. Cammarele seems like a true ko pucnher though, he kind of reminded me of Sanders with his southpaw left and, even though he seemed slower seems much more durable and less wild than Sanders was.

Worst thing about Katie is the fucking bandwagoners of Irish TV and sport. I remember reading about her back in 2000 in a copy of the Big Issues. Now all of a sudden she's in everyones Facebook status etc......Enda Kenny was down at her gym only recently. For fucks sake like. And now you have to listen to every menopausal auld one in the country gassing on about wimminz this and wimminz that.

As for Joshua, it's palpable that he's the big "sexy" boy who is going to make sure that British "journalists" no longer suffer the ignominy of having to travel to shitholes like Tyrol to be comped and dined by the evil Klitschkos. Joshua is going to be the man who makes sure that British boxing no longer suffers the ignominy of two of their own being set-up and forced to hit each other for the benefit of a smirking Germanic audience.

If the thought of Katie Taylor down at the Point Depot is depressing, then imagine 6 or 8 years of the Joshua Tree putting down roots on Boxnation shows, bowling over, with no small difficulty, utter turnips, with an thoroughly jaded Jim Rosenthal and an even more jaded Steve Bunce harping on in the background.

    Jesus wept.

Nobody hates Joshua. He got slapped around by a Cuban half his size and that set the tone.

He didn't bash a first boricua....so he couldn't possible bash another boricua...the guy was cuban....

Felix is going to skull fuck Lomachenko in the pros...if Loma doesn't fail as a pro...and doesn't stay in the Ukraine ducking and dodging.

Agreed. I don't hate Joshua. He seems more likeable and flatout better than that hideous scrub Shitty Gogo.

But yeah, he doesn't even deserve to be in contention for a medal. That Cuban slapped him around clear as day, that was daylight robbery.

It's that very bandwagon that will make Katie a rich women, its the nature of the beast

I have mixed feelings about her turning pro.. I can't see her gaining much from the pro game. I doubt she would sell out the Avila on her own.. Most people talking about her now would never go to a fight and a lot of people that celebrate her win are the same people would think boxing is barbaric

Conlon was outclassed but he is young and shows a lot promise.. Cant wait for the Nevin bout :hammert:

Hard to score that for Nevin, but still, scoring was a joke, Nevin bossed the 2nd something fierce and won it by one point. Bitterly disappointed.
