Larry Merchant (AND Jim Lampley) Like the Sound of their OWN Voices, when Attached to Documentaries from Past Fights...Just Because they SAY Something, Doesn't Necessarily Mean it's an ACCURATE Statement...

Yep. No amount of Irish revisionism can undo the significance of that fight.

He is like a pitbull when he decides to sink his teeth into something, no matter how off-base it may be.

But yet you did...and, unfortunately, you didn't bother to get your facts straight before doing so.

I've always loved that fight. People say Lewis fought scared & had a questionable chin, but he came in out of shape, TOOK IT to Vitali & walked thorugh his punches in a way no fighter ever has, (& in a way LL always fought big guys), & stopped him.

People say that Lewis would not have lasted a few more rounds, but if you watch right at the end, (after that big uppercut), LL caught him with a sneaky RH that had Vitali holding on for dear life, virtually out on his feet.

Yep. Very under rated (albeit sloppy at times), fight IMO.

Ah, okay then, in my opinon it's semantics, but I can live with "non-fight". :truce: It's like the crucifixion, big event, non-fight.

Wasn't Froch v Bute on some obscure channel in the US? I seem to recall our US brethren saying as such.

REED & Most Other US Fightbeaters were VERY Upset that Froch-Bute WASN'T Televised for the Masses, in the States...

We don't doubt it. The disconnect between popular boxing sentiment and the TV people is alarming. Its tolerable, up to the point that the masses, or some of them at least, start to get told by the TV people who the good fighters are and are not.
