in a few years from now the gay community will demand equal rights and liberal Hollywood will give them their own gay superhero movie.

I am not very familiar with 80's cartoons except for the obvious ones like Transformers, He-Man, Smurfs, etc and it was mainly because there was no way to avoid the toy commercials.

Enough of these unknown cartoons: they must make a Mighty Mouse movie!!! Hey, if they did an Underdog movie, why not Mighty Mouse?

Just curious, have you ever read the comic books these movies are based on? I used to read them when I was a kid. They have all of the (extremely formulaic and uncreative, but amusing distractions to a retard like yourself, I suppose) things you are referring to. What age group do you think they are primarily targeted toward?

There's no need to so passionately defend your interest in stupid and childish films. Nobody expects any different from you, everyone understands.

Uuuuh, the Topic @ Hand is Comic Book FLICKS, Fecal Brains...Please Stick to this PARTICULAR Task...

Of Course REED has Read Most of the Comic Books these Movies R Based on & in MOST Cases, the FLICKS R Updated, More MATURE Versions...Since When is SEXUAL INNUENDO (Which is PREVALENT in Comic Book Flicks) Used to Target 10 Year Olds???...Scarlet Johaanson WASN'T in "Avengers" to Attract 10 Year Olds, She was There to Attract the ADULT MALES that R Familiar w/the Comic...It's Actually an EASY Concept to Grasp, Unless U're an ADMITTED TROLL, w/Absolutely NATHAN Better to Do w/their Time...

The ONLY Thing Worse than "Stupid & Childish Films" is a Guy INVESTING TIME In Criticizing Those who Like Them...GETafuckingLIFE, Homegirl...

    REED:boohoo:

ps. Perhaps U'll ADDRESS the Questions REED had about "The Lorax (Which YOU Compared to a Comic Book Flick) in your Next Post, Otherwise, Kindly Move Along to POISON yet Another Thread w/your Idiocy...

.. Have you seen the females in superhero comic books? To put it mildly, thy are "stacked" and hypersexualized. Do you still read comic books? Do you think an adolescent or even prepubescent boy doesn't like staring at Scarlet Johannsen's tits? Guess you were a late bloomer.

Oh, and regarding your questions about the Lorax, no, it had no prurient content. Going by your junior high conception of what constitutes an "adult film" (herp derp it has to have boobies!!) I guess it falls short of tired garbage like "Thor"

The problem with the discussion above is that you lump all superhero movies to one, even though they have several differences. Just like fantasy movies can be aimed for children and/or adults, so can superhero flicks, which have some of the same elements

I think it is obvious that some superhero movies are mostly directed to the adults that have read the comic books when they were kids. Movies such as the new batman saga clearly include elements that 1) are new compared to the comics and 2) are serious and sometimes even too complicated for children to understand. The same goes with James Bond movies: they are mostly directed to adult folks, even though the original books are every boy's agent fantasies.

Then there are movies such as Transporters, which are clearly directed mostly to children, which include plenty of rather juvenile action and little plot. These movies can however also have elements to keep adults and parents interested as well. For example Avengers was mixture of irony that adults can understand and regular action.

Is watching superhero movies childish? It is, if playing football, watching sports, listening to rock music etc. It doesn't force you to think much, you won't learn much about life from them etc, but if it gives you good mood, then it is not useless. Classifying different forms of escapism to 'childish' and 'clever' is rather pointless. And childish

Showing a "Stacked" Woman ISN'T the Same as Adding a LOVE SCENE &/or PILLOW TALK to a Comic Book FLICK...There's a Level of PROGRESSION, of MATURATION to Comic Flicks, that the Books LACK...

Again, if U Dislike Comic Book Flicks, Simply IGNORE Them...AND, IGNORE Threads Dedicated to them...Should Be Simple Enough, Unless U're Still Looking to Whet that Appetite to TROLL...

Uh, the movies are mostly rated PG-13. The comic books show all of the things you are talking about. It's telling that you consider junior high level prurience a standard for what should appeal to adults to begin with.

    Precisely...

Right HERE, U've just DEFECATED Upon Your OWN Premise that Comic Book Flicks R Intended for "10 Year Olds"....U've just Shot YOURSELF in the Foot, while Foolishly Pointing the Gun @ the Other 1...

How Exactly Does a STILL LIFE DRAWING Equate to Man & Woman Kissing/Groping, Laying in Bed Together in a LIVE ACTION Film???...It's No Different than the Way Still Life Violence PALES In Comparison to the Screen Version...As REED & Others have Stated Ad Nauseum, the Flicks R More MATURE Versions of the Books...

    that would be really cool!!
Eric could live in a really ghetto neighborhood and his parents are abusive alcohohlics...the movie starts with him borrowing 1 quid from his mothers purse while she's getting a beating from his dad...he uses the money to buy a few bananas
