Shiloh Fernandez who was seen previously in Little Red Riding Hood has been cast in the role of boxer Johnny Tapia in an independent low budget film to be directed by Eddie Alcazar and to be released on 2013. The film will focus on Tapia's early years since this project was given the green light before Tapia's death. This guy looks more like a Twilight reject. He better start working out.

He needs to be in boxing shape, but Tapia wasn't exactly Arnold Schwarzenegger.

True, but he wasn't that skinny either. Fernandez should start eating more ice cream & Tacos.

He was pretty close to being that skinny, but he was shorter. Tapia had very little muscle definition, which is rare for the lower weightclasses unless the fighter isn't in shape---but Tapia was in shape for his fights.

Besides, it's more about portraying the events than it is about mimicking the person's bodyshape. DeNiro didn't look like Jake Lamotta very much, but he acting was great.

You are right. Fernandez is taller than Tapia and doesn't look at all like him. I can't judge if he is a good actor, though, since I only have seen him in Little Red Riding Hood and his character was one dimensional (not his fault but the story & direction).
