Chiesa is my boy, you guys all know this. Don't put to much into his tweets, Dana asked many of the UFC fighters to back him up on Twitter. Thats just the real deal guys. He's just a young kid who is trying to make a name for himself and make his boss happy.

Chiesa's comments are laughable at best. The company men mad at this decision are mad that the company and its boss had to cancel the show...hardcore fight fans are mad that they miss out on an anticipated fight.

Jones has shown no habit of this type of behavior and should be judged with an open mind. IMO it was a lose-lose. You lose to Sonnen, you've lost to a smaller man that Silva beat. You win, you've beaten a smaller man who just got crushed at a low weight. Obviously its not just about the money to him (to the guy that mentioned him becoming a Mayweather).

Yeah, except he scoffed at the notion of fighting a Machida again when Dana announced Lyoto as the next challenger after Henderson.

And then the whole lose-lose situation with Sonnen is laughable when you see that Jones is fighting Belfort next. A loss to Belfort is far more of a LOSE than a loss to Sonnen.

At least with Sonnen it's a guy that won 5 of 6+ rounds against the best fighter in the world. With Belfort, it's a loss to a guy that lost via the most memorable Steven Seagal kick in history.

I'm not sure if you're saying he scoffed as in he was threatened by the challenge. That should go both ways, as Machida turned down a request to fight Jones just recently. No?

Jones fighting Belfort as a result of the craziness over the past few weeks should bear no reflection on him. If the Hendo fight had gone as planned (a much harder fight that Jones agreed to), then I wonder if Belfort would have even been mentioned.

Again, it' not what I'm saying. Jones said a rematch with Machida is too big a risk for too little reward. Not my words or speculation but his own.

And Machida turned down a Jones fight without a full camp, which is far different from Jones turning down a fight with Sonnen on a date he was expecting to fight.

Yes, Belfort is the result of craziness. The craziness than ensued when Jones turned down a fight with Sonnen. Of course Belfort would never have been mentioned. He is the result of the UFC scrambling to find an opponent thanks to Diva Jones.

But Jones's camp was to fight Hendo. C'mon, man.....I know you see it.

Your delusional if you honestly think Jones was worried about the stylistic differences of Henderson and Sonnen. That is perhaps the most laughable thing to be said in this whole ordeal.

Any wrestling advantage Sonnen has, and even that can be disputed, would be negated by moving up 20 pounds to fight a huge Light Heavy in Jones.

Jones wasn't worried about prep or style changes. Hell, his fresh off beating the best MMA wrestler at 205 without giving up a single takedown.

Jones turned down the fight as a flex move to flip-off Sonnen or the UFC, or both. And I'm cool with that. Sonnen and the UFC need to be checked. But when you couple it with crying about a Machida rematch and then agreeing to fight Belfort, it's crap.

Sorry. We can disagree, but you can't spin this to a point where Jones isn't being a diva.

The Machida "high risk low reward" comment and then Sonnen?

Come on man, I know you see it.

Edgy style of posting from you guys, but its all good! You're right, we don't have to agree. I'm upset we missed a good fight, but it makes perfect sense to me. I do agree he also wanted to punish Sonnen for his comments, but so what? He's in position to do that. Sonnen is coming off a loss at a lower weight...he gotta get back in line.

See, edgy or not, we can agree 100% on some items!

Honestly though, surely you DO see that the Machida "high risk, low reward" comment then the Sonnen saga immediately afterwards isn't a great sign of things to come both for Jones and the UFC?

That's why I made the Floyd comparison. I've criticised the UFC plenty, especially in regards to pay etc, and I am more of a boxing fan - but the one thing I've always loved about MMA is the fact that the fighters don't get to act like little princesses, dancing around each other like Pacquiao and Floyd. I really don't want that to happen to MMA.

Sure he said it, he said his fight with Machida was the lowest draw of any of his recent fights. He also said he'd fight anyone the UFC wants him to at 152, which just so happened to end up being Belfort.
