<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AS5r1xjof38" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> they just fought at one FC, flew completely under my radar. Their's a clear winner even thought it was ruled a NC
Spoiler While he didn't exactly looked good, Arlovski seems to be slowly recovering from his awfull ko losses streak. He looked far more confident there than vs the much more limited Fulton
Did you see the card? Fernandes looked decent in the main event. Regarding Arlovski, do you really think you can recover a lost chin? Isn't it amazing that both these guys were UFC Champions. Just goes to show how piss poor the UFC's HW division once was.
Arlovski looked pretty good. Mixed up his punches with a lot of kicks. Tim looked fat. You'd think after lobbying so hard to get back into the UFC he'd make an effort to try and impress them. The decision was BS and I think they knew it because why not DQ Arlovkski if they say he committed a foul ? From what I gather the rule is you can kick a downed opponent but you gotta wait for the ref's permission ? What the fuck? This is not chess. Stupid bush league organizations. Arlovski should forget the "official" decision because everyone knows he won and just keep up the good work and UFC should take him back soon.
Trpl, I'm not saying they were all that good, but watching guys so far past their prime and trying to say that it proves they weren't good is not fair or logical. It should have been a dq if it was illegal.
I think the rule make a lot of sense, fighters just need to get used to it wich is obviously not the case right now
I disagree, I think prime Arlovski was a stud and would be a solid player in the UFC right now. He beaten Werdum and Nelson easilly already ( Werdum may have improved since, but I'd still favor prime Arlovski over him) n
Personally I always thought they stopped the Nelson-Arlovski fight a little early. Nelson's display of chin since then kind of proves it, I guess. But let's not forget a prime Arlovski was stopped by Sylvia, Rodriquez and Rizzo. I think I would give a prime Arlovski a chance at being a middle of the pack HW right now. It's all guess work but that's my opinion.
I think Nelson Arlovski stoppage was good enough. Nelson wasn't completely out or anything but he was exhausted and letting Arlovski pounce on him would be like pouncing on a beached whale. Not really fair and although possibly fun in the end pointless.
I agree, while I would have liked for the ref to let it a tad longer, Nelson seemed done to me and it was far less early than the average stoppage imo.
OneFC is fucking garbage. Arlovski knocked out Sylvia. I don't care what the rules say. Those kicks weren't even needed. Fat ass Sylvia was already done.
Arlovski should fight James Thompson in that Indian organization. That would be sure fire fight. Most likely Arlovski KO1 but you never know with Arlovski.
I don't know anything about this OneFC org. But that rule blows. Seriously. How do you expect a trained fighter full of adrenaline to knock someone down, remember to pause, look at the ref and then get the nod from the ref and then attack. In fact, I can't believe from a safety stand point they want a fighter to take his eyes off his opponent and look at the ref at all. Crazy. Am I assuming now that they got rid of that crazy shit since they adopted the Pride rules? BTW, I loved the Pride rules. Arlovski I think will be limited to fighting in shows like this against guys like Tim. He will make some cash doing it for sure. I would be suprised if the UFC ever gave him a shot again.
Funny that all people blame the one FC rule, wich make a lot more sense the the ridiculous no 3 point attack in the ufc. How many time have we seen some loser putting a finger on the ground to avoid getting hit
Who has ever argued in favor of that rule though? The OneFC rules was obviously fucked, since they changed it as a result of this fight.
I tought you meant James Toney athetic: Jame Thompson would in fact be perfect, big guy who does't punch hard. As Z said, he'd make Arlovski chin look good. Plus, he's on a decent streak so it would be a solid win.
: and don't get me wrong, it's pretty much a given that Andrie would beat Toney easilly. Just that with his chin, predisposition to box and awful defense, I would give Toney a modest chance to pull off a Mercer-Sylvia if Arlovski doesn't do the Couture game plan. And considering Toney reputation is pretty much in the gutter, it just wouldn't make any sense to risk it for Arlovski
