What is more ridiculous is that anyone might have thought that, by my not initially stating this quite obvious fact, that my posts could ever be construed as such. I didn't say it originally because it is blindingly obvious/not even open for debate, or at least I thought. MTF

REED Thinks this Bout will B a Tad More FAN FRIENDLY than Most are Expecting... The Thing about it is Andre Ward...No, he Can't Punch for Shit, but he DOES Throw a Decent Amount of Punches per Round, he Works His Way INSIDE & Then Uses his Hands (& Head) when he's Closed that Distance...What "Bores" Some is the Repetitive, Rinse-Repeat Nature of Ward's Strategy, but he Shouldn't Be Penalized for that... Chad Dawson is Gonna have to Exhibit MORE Passion, Show MORE Fighting Spirit than We've EVER Seen from him, or he Loses a WIDE, 1-Sided Decision...We'll Know by the 3rd or 4th Round if Dawson has ANY Chance to Win...He'll have to Do SOMETHING (HURT Ward, Have Success Keeping Ward on the Perimeter w/his Southpaw Jab, Something) EARLY to Give Himself the Confidence to Make it a Fight Down the Stretch...If by the 4th Round Dawson HASN'T Done this, the Bout will Delve Into the Familiar Pattern of Most Ward Fights... Ward is the SAFE Pick, but REED has a Feeling Dawson's Gonna Make him Work HARDER than he's Accustomed to, to Get it Done... REED:mj:
Maybe it's just me...but it seems like nobody has a problem with the fight taking place at 168...I know Dawson asked for it. But it has been years since he had a fight at 168...and against someone of Ward caliber?...How has his training camp been going...? What is the lightest he has been for his recent fights 173? Can he lose 5-6 more pounds without dying?
we'll see how dawson does in the late rounds but i think '68 isnt a huge problem. i also think he will come to win and not just use the weight and location as excuses.
LMAO! I've seen a few Cleverly fights. Both Ward and Dawson would give him epic, and one sided ass whuppins.
Dawson can give very few light heavyweights epic, one sided ass whippins, and certainly can't do it to Cleverly.
I admittedly overrated Cleverly at first, hes decent but not elite level. Saying that its hardly outside the realm of possibility that he could outwork Chad.
I got Ward in this fight likely by decision. Dawson is a hot and cold fighter and I don't like inconsistent fighters and Ward is simply the far more skilled fighter. Even though Dawson is moving down in weight, I think that won't be an advantage here as Dawson may be cutting too much. He had already fought at Cruiser in the past. I think Ward will wear him down and pick him apart.
Yea, not sure about that, you can't see their feet. But I'm 100% certain Chad is more than 1" taller. I believe Chad was taller than Hopkins and Hopkins is 6"1" I think.
From what I've observed about their height next to other fighters etc, I think their height listings are both 1 inch off but in the opposite directions. I think Ward is 5'11 or so, and Doorson is closer to 6'2. Doorson always looks pretty tall, taller than anyone he's fought.
Dawson never fought as a cruiserweight, I think he will be fine at 168. I think Ward beats him because he's to crafty, nothing to do with weight.
Yea, you're right, for some reason I was thinking he fought there a few times earlier in his career. That being said, I still think the weight can be an issue because Chad was already a big 175.
What makes you think Ward is a legit 6'0? He looked more like 5'11 Vs Kessler and Frock, clearly shorter than both of them. Doorson looks like a 6'2 er to me, he's been taller than everyone I've seen him fight.
