Well B Hop never fought in his prime at 175. But assuming he was as effective there as he was at 160, he would beat Dawson from pillar to post. BADLY. Chad just can't fight inside and he's always been reluctant to let his hands go. Hopkins does a number on him in an ugly fight.
It would look different because Hopkins' best weapon is a right hand The punch Ward used to really dominate Dawson was the left hook
what r u kdinng me hopkns to quick to fast to pwerful i think in my mind chad would bow down to him like he did to wrd
cahd lose because of teh sponge ring ward peoples loose an the ropes ok biiyyyaaaccch i think in my mind
i'd say it was Ward's ability to come inside aggressively & throw short punches from medium to short range that let him dominate the fight, not the left hook per se. Besides Hops hook is good too. i can definitely see a prime Hopkins using a similar strategy. Any version of Hopkins after about 2002, 2003 would find it much more difficult tho since he'd lost the kind of intensity/aggression/pace Ward employed.ld:
Hopkins went from being one of my favorites to being one of my least favorite fighters... he went from positive to negative While I agree that Hopkins likely dishes out a similar beating to Dawson, I still maintain that a large part of Ward's success, besides his timing and aggression, was Dawson's inability to block his hook... He was caught constantly... Hopkins could hook, too, but usually did so after already getting inside, rather than leading with the hook the way Ward did
