That's what I would have said before, but I don't think Pacquiao is the fighter he was. At this point Ward is probably better.

Don't really see much basis for putting him above Floyd at this point though. Floyd has slowed down but is still brutally effective. He would have clowned a plank like Doorson at least as easily.

 

Floyd hasn't shown much at 154 lbs though and I don't think he can get back in weight anymore

 

Of course he can still make 147, and I bet that's where he continues to fight.

Whether I overrated Dawson or not, it doesn't change the fact that MANY (not just me) thought he could at least give Ward his toughest fight. Whereas NOBODY gave Ortiz a chance against Floyd.

And I think Froch at this stage is better than Cotto.

Accomplishment wise, Ward has just done a lot more than Floyd lately. And ability wise, I'd say young Ward is on par with a 35 year old Floyd.

Obviously, a younger Floyd was far more talented than Ward.

Think of it as a prime/peak Kobe vs the older, 98 Jordan.

Floyd at this stage is very comparable to the 98 Jordan.

Froch P4P at this point would stop Cotto late.

He's less talented than Cotto, but a lot tougher and with better stamina.

Also, Froch's ring IQ is higher than many of us give him credit for.

Not at all, Dawson was drained, undoubtedly, its why I compared Ward to Sugar-Ray Leonard, The Donny Lalonde Years.


Yet, ironically, Dawson and Adamek, both of whom are inferior to Haye on all fronts, have a great chance considering that, at 200, Haye was usually tight at the weight.

Dawson and Froch are as good as anyone Floyd has beaten in many years. I'd say Ward is pulling ahead in p4p based on the Super 6 and beating Dawson. Cotto is not even as good as Dawson or Froch at this point.
