Chavez by KO! he is going to KO Martinez and make him look like a drunken bum. like wobbeling around on shakey legs..
Martinez is 11 years old, 3 inches shorter, and I think Chavez is the truth.. he has the JC Superstar in him and will land body shots that martinez's grandkids will feel!!! Martinez is from Argentina! Chavez was born in Culican Mexico!!!!
Seeing what Baker was capable of doing to Martinez, it won't surprise me if Chavez jr busts Martinez up. I don't think Sergio is giving Chavez jr much respect, so Chavez jr wants to put that right. Martinez is after blood and this could be his downfall. Fuck it, i'm going with Chavez jr on points.
I'm picking Chavez by decision based on my hatred of Martinez and my disgust at the fact that he is a consensus top 5 P4P fighter I am also doing it for the lulz which will ensue if Martinez loses (i.e. "he got old overnight" ... "he's past his prime"... "the Martinez of 2 years ago kills him!")
Martinez fights to the level of his opposition. Now that he faces a real threat (unlike Baker and Macklin) he will be sharp from the start and win in fairly dominant fashion, probably by stoppage in about ten rounds. After the fight cdogg will point out that Martinez is not a legit top-100 fighter in the world until he wins Stanley Cup
Martinez beats the crap out of him. Chavez JR's size and pressure will allow him to rough Martinez up for a couple of rounds, but when Martinez finds his range he'll bust Chavez up, and goofy JR will start to think twice about mindlessly charging in.
Something tells me Jr will not be able to handle the speed of Martinez. I think he gets caught with a shot he dosent see and gets KTFO! Give me Martinez by ko within 6 rounds. I also can see Jr being too Big for Martinez so I wouldn't be surprised if Jr overwhelms him with his size. It's going to be a fun fight to watch for sure.
I'm going Chavez UD. Rooting for Martinez but I think his luck has run out and he will look his age in this one.
this is going to be Chavez coming out party.. he is going to bruise and batter Martinez Martinez will walk like Ricky Martin after this fight
Brother Stinger.. I'm pulling for him. I think he has improved a lot. I think Martinez is sometimes good sometimes not. I believe Jr has something in him.. he has the hunger, he is younger, taller, stronger IMO.
We will agree to disagree brother as junior just has too many flaws and openings here, IMO. He has improved since I last saw him in Houston where he didn't show me anything at all vs. manfredo, but I think he is badly overmatched here.
sounds good buddy.. i'm with you that there are flaws.. at times he looks wide open. he is kinda rangey to fight like his pop but he is starting to bang to the body better and with some THUMP. I think he is bigger than Martinez and Martinez is 11 years older, plus Martinez looked like crap in his last outing vs Macklin. Granted he got a stoppage but in the early on Macklin was timing him and IMO got the best of him. we'll see.. i'm not really confident in my pick at all.. but hopeful, i'd like to see Jr do well
I want Chavez Jr to do well, but I get the feeling Martinez will stop him before the end of the 8th. My guess is Chavez has a little success early, but he'll start getting tagged with heavy leather and go into survival mode by the 4th. From there, Martinez turns up the heat and methodically beats him down. Then again, with Martinez's face, a cut stoppage for JC Jr is possible---unlikely in my opinion, but possible.
Martinez by KO 7 Chavez does very good in the first two rounds, but Martinez adjust to the pressure/size of his opponent..by round 3-4 Martinez is countering well and landing some hard shots. Chavez keeps coming landing his own punches, but after a few rounds of the same..Chavez face would be a messed, he will be breathing hard....Chavez get's wobbled by a few punches..and is saved on his feet..is that a KO? or TKO? OR Martinez takes his mid-fight break between rounds 7-9..and allow Chavez to go late into the fight... But this is a fight I don't give to about who wins. If Martinez wins..then fight vs. Cotto, Mayweather, Lara, etc are still alive. If Chavez Jr. wins I think he and papa Superstar ride it for 10-20 fights vs. bum to average opponents..until they're ready to fight another top opponent.
What did Martinez show you in his fight with Darren Barker and and Mathew Macklin? I like Martinez and all, he's a good fighter but his last couple fights he seems to have slipped quite a bit.
Surprised at the amount of Chavez picks tbh. Only a year or 2 ago people were laughing at the idea of this matchup, saying Junior would get starched with ease. Chavez has got better, without a doubt, and he is significantly bigger, so I wouldn't exactly be shocked if he won - but damn, I still think Martinez should be a heavy favourite.
Martinez is super awesome and a handsome lad....and he talk spanish like a fag...not a super fag from spain...but like a real marika un pure aryan wannabe Argentinian lad...
What hunger? Did you watched the last 24/7 this past Saturday? Chavez Jr is skipping his training with Freddy Roach to 'take the day off and rest'. And he is staying at home training with his entourage. Did you saw him how bored he was by his pumped up daddy who was giving him advise on a fight strategy? I have seen this scenario before and it always ends in a painful beating. Chavez Jr. will start strong early trying to attack the body, but Martinez speed and angles will give him trouble. By midrounds Chavez Jr face will be swollen and possibly bleeding. Chavez Jr. , lacking a plan B, will throw desperate punches that not land. Martinez will continue punishing a tired Chavez jr and possibly score a knockdown. After a barrage of punches by Martinez in the latter half of the fight, the referee will stop the fight with Chavez sr. jumping to the ring trying to fight both the ref and Martinez. It will be ugly. The chavez will claim the ref stopped the fight prematurely 'Nos la robaron!" (they stole the fight! we were winning!) will be among the retard excuses we will hear from the Pride of Culiacan Mexico.
