I like this fight. Not because it will be competitive but because it won't be. And at the same time Stephan will not lay down but take a gruesome beating. Now the reason why I like it being non competitive is because I don't want anyone spoiling GSP vs Anderson in early 2013. You fucking hear that Condit?

Damn TFK. You gonna make me go somewhere else to find out what the hell you are talking about

Well, at least Bonnar isn't going to take it in the ass. In fact, he may get beat-up but he'll push Anderson to fight.

Condit stands a very good chance of beating GSP, do you better hope he heard you.

I love this for several reasons. First, it increases my respect for Anderson Silva. The dude was going to take the rest of 2012 off, but twice offered to help out when the UFC needed to fill cards. Second, Silva fighting anyone makes it a fun card to watch and especially at 205.Third, Bonnar is the most durable guy I know at 205. He's never been knocked out or submitted. He will push Silva or make him look great. Either way we get a fun fight. Finally, Bonnar deserves a big fight. The dude has been a quality card-filler for almost 8 years. Let him get a moment in a big main event.

Sure, it would have been cool to see Silva-Weidman as a replacement fight but that wasn't going to happen. I wouldn't be shocked if this is a sign of Silva looking to make a run at Jones before he retires. It might just be a 'one off' deal to fill an open PPV but let's hope it starts a Silva campaign at 205.

Exactly. Carlos Condit is going to spoil GSP-Silva. Condit is just too good a fighter for GSP to face after being away for almost 2 years.

I understand what you mean, Trp, but this fight does nothing for my interest. I wouldn't buy this PPV.

Bonnar Lasts Looooonger than Forrest, but STILL Gets EMBARRASSED...Official Prediction, Silva WHENEVER He Wants To End it...

I'm 50-50 on that fight. While Silva usually puts on a show, Bonnar figures to be hopelessely outmatched. But he's tough and hard to put away, even a young talent like Jones couldn't end the fight early against him. Still, it's basically the same as one of RJ showcase fight during his lighthw reign, and that you have to pay 50$ for it puts it in pretty much the same light as RJ-Gonzales ( wich started the Roycott ). On the undercard, Maia-Story and Fitch-Silva are interesting fights, but both have a strong probability of being boring. The other 2 are basically fights to make 2 of their top prospects look good.

I like the fight...good to see Sliva at 205 boner is durable

I say Silva wins AND GSp wins

Nah, Maldando-Texeira is a good fight. Maldando is no push over. It's a great test for Texeira.

I like this card. Story-Maia and Fitch-Silva are important fights. And the rematch bewtween Phil Davis and Wagner Prado should be interesting.

But ultimately, regardless of the caliber of Bonnar, fighting at 205 should always be worth watching for Anderson Silva. I'm looking forward to Silva fighting a big, physical light heavy with a great chin.

The Roy Jones comparison would have merit if not for Silva moving up to 205. TheRJJ comparison was at Roy's weight. Huge difference.

In fact, it's perfectly valid, Jones was a small lwh, not even a real one to be honest. and Gonzales had probably more lbs on him at fight night than Bonner will have on Silva. Plus, it's not like if it will be first trip at 205 for Silva, the novelty act ain't there anymore. We know he carries the weight very well and is effective at the weight.

Let's be honest, if Bonnar pullls the upset, it's the biggest ever in the history of the sport. A Bonnar closer to his prime than he is now lost to decrepit Mark Coleman. As for the Texeira and Davis fights, I only see them as showcases, were the opponent is only there to make them work a little bit without having any serious chance of winning.. i guess we'll see who was right after the event

Maldando and especially Prado have great chances of winning. In fact I'm picking both of them. Prado was tagging Davis in the first fight.

And RJJ had been fighting exclusively at Light Heavy for 5 years when he faced Gonzalez. It WAS his weight class. It's not even remotely the same thing. Not even close.

He should have made his nickname, Stephan "The Raging" Bonnar. That would have been the greatest of all time.

Yeah, that was tough to read.

Oh, and whoever the writer is, 205 is not Silva's natural weight class. He has been a 185'er forever. MW is his natural weight class.

I can't believe Frankie Edgar was going to actually fight the main card. Shame Jose Aldo stepped out with injury.

He actually has a 100% 1st round KO ratio at 205

Bonnar is tough. He went the distance with Jon Jones, and I thought he won the third round. He won't last long this time unless Anderson gets old overnight.

bonnar got outworked by an old ass mark coleman! i think his contract w/ ufc was on the line when he had that rematch vs. soszynski. didn't he also get popped for roids?

I'm excited to see another Anderson Silva highlight reel knockout. I know Bonnar isn't a top 10 or even a top 20 light heavyweight. As last minute replacement fights go, it should be fun. I'd love to see Anderson get an easy win here and then win one last big fight with GSP before he retires. I don't want to see him go the RJJ route where he keeps fighting way past his prime.

Nah man, I'm with you. Bonnar is a gatekeeper at best. Silva has no business fighting him. Line him up with Rashad Evans.
