    Yep, this WASN'T Some Suave Attempt @ WOO'ing his Lady, this was Basically a VIRGINAL Frat Boy @ a Strip Club, Taking Liberties w/an UNATTAINABLE Piece of Ass...Anthony Makes it Sound like Mickey Rourke's Famous Sex Scenes w/Kim Basinger & Lisa Bonet & this was Anything BUT That...Spike was Doing "Wax On, Wax Off" w/her Tits & an Ice Cube...

    Spike & Rosie Didn't Even LOOK Right Together...The IMMEDIATE Thought was, "Why is She w/THAT Dude?"...If Spike Insisted on the Scene, he Could've Easily Cast a More REALISTIC On Screen Companion for Himself, but Instead, he Chose Rosie Perez...

    In all seriousness, Spike should have probably given the lead in that film to either Lawrence Fishbourne or Giancarlo Esposito.............as it is, it still turned out to be a great movie, so I'll forgive him for this one.

    REED's Read Most of Spike's Screenplays & the Accompanying Books & his Sense of "Sexuality" is Definitely FORCED, w/the Rosie Perez Ice Cube Scene Being THE Most Glaring Example...

    I watched "School Daze" again the other night. Even back then the sex scenes were just awful. :lol:

    Thankfully, he cuts away when they get to his own scene.

    I think you are making a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be. Maybe the scene was over the top, but i thought it served a purpose. And in the end, we all win. At least te guys anyways.

    REED can Admit he'd More than Likely Make EGO Driven Decisions Himself, if Given the Opportunity, but Spike has this HIGHER THAN THOU Way about him, that Places him ABOVE Making Such Admissions...Even when it's OBVIOUS...

    Maybe, but Spikes character was played as a sympathetic loser, until that happened.

    The female was being exploited by the fraternity...........and therefore Spike, and was not into it at all. Spike's character took an obvious turn for the worse afterwards.

    I think Spike gets a pass in this case, because he wasn't supposed to get that girl, and she was disgusted when he did.

    You guys want "EGO" in the film industry? Have you seen the documentary "Overnight"? It's the story of Troy Duffy who wrote/directed "The Boondock Saints". It recaps the story of his discovery at an LA bar frequented by film industry people, and what happened when his screenplay was purchased by Miramar ($300K I think?) and he was given the power to make and direct his movie. I understand that sometimes editing can shade people to to look one way or the other...but in this case it was hard to believe Duffy's EGO. The way he treated the people around him, as well as the people assigned to assist him was just BRUTAL. He was speaking of himself as if he were instantaneously an all-time great in BOTH the music AND film industry. It's just fascinating to watch. It's like an 82-minute train wreck.

    Yeah, I saw it quite awhile ago. Guy pissed away his film career, perhaps quicker then anybody else in history.

    He did manage to get "BDS2" made. Not sure if was successful enough to merit another Troy Duffy project though...

    Just read that dispite the fact that "BDS" earned more than $6-mil in DVD sales, he got $0 becuase his contract didn't include broadcast or home video rights.

    Great documentary

    Duffy comes off as an almost unbelievable asshole

    What is even funnier is that Boondock Saints was basically a mediocre and pretentious film saved largely by a typically great performance by Wilhem DaFoe

    That is a great example. I remember when the film was still being filmed that the press reports about Herzog's egomanical direction was driving everybody in the crew nuts. His clashes with Klaus Kinski were the daily gossip. The film was good, but the story behind it was the stuff of legend.

    How come no one has mentioned for example ROCKY II? If there was ever a film were the writer/director/actor didn't came out as nothing short of a prima donna is this one. Stallone is almost in every shot of every scene of the film,except for two or three scenes involving Apollo Creed at home or Adrian talking to Paulie in the pet shop.

    Even a video club clerk education can tell you that unless the movie is titled "ROBINSON CRUSOE" the main character should not be in all the scenes. :nono:
