    mmmm nah they made it clear several times that he has no motives or emotions...he shouldn't give a shit about finding out more information, and deliberately killing someone in the process, unless someone tells him to
    and the old man couldn't have told him shit because at that stage of the movie no one knew anything


    they kinda fucked up by making an android the main instigator

    say what? No motives? His whole reason for being there is a motive. Why did he cover up the fact the old man was on board if there no motives? His Objective was to get information, translate, navigate, take care of, etc. All the things he did.

    face it, they took the easy way out...what a shitty plot hole

    so his motive for taking some random substance and giving to a crew member was to collect information....ok :Thumb:

    then knowing (?) that the chick is pregnant and not helping her cos he wanted to see what comes out of her, to collect more information


    to give the story more of a twist they could have had him brutally kill a few of the crew members and run all sorts of experiments on them with the aliens to find out some information too :atu:

    how is it a shitty plot hole? Plot hole is such a stupid phrase. 1. the android had feelings. the guy was an ass to him. He wanted to see what that goo shit did. It was all for his information. How was he suppose to help the pregnant girl? Help her with what?

    He kept it a secret because if they knew he was there, they would know the real reason of the trip. 2 seconds and no convincing at all are about the same IMO. Under extreme emotional distress, you have to make decisions quickly. The Captain already said he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that ship did not leave the planet.

    he had feelings?? but every 2 minutes they are saying he cant feel "want" or 'dissapointment' and is not familiar with this or that...the old guy said it, the robot said it himself, other people said it to him and he agreed....so was he meant to have feelings or not??? :scared:

    bullshit, the other alien movies did not have an android like this one
    i didnt see Bishop place an alien on someones face cos he was curious to gather more information about it :l2:

    why did they keep saying he didn't have feelings? was it to irritate or bore the viewer?



    also, how come they all took their helmets off in the cave?
    as leading scientists would they not know about the risk of bacterial infection..or the risk of contaminating an alien environment with human bacteria? i think i learn that when i was 7 years old :l2: fuck Ridley Scott is an idiot

    So because Bishop didnt do the exact same thing david did, he didnt have feelings? Troll Much? Who kept saying he didnt have feelings?

    As for taking their helmet off, contamination, blah blah blah. Engineers were human. Just a superior species. The Engineers built the place. Also technology in the future im sure can determine if its okay to remove your helmet. That being said, the only thing that caused the change to the goo, was the human intent, feelings and selfishness. It was not affectected by the temp or anything of the nature.

    i told you...the old guy said that the robot doesn't have feelings...the robot himself said he didn't have feelings...i don't think that you actually watched this movie


    of course we the viewer know that they wouldn't be harmed by removing their helmet...but at that point in the movie it is ridiculous that scientists would have done that...they didn't know any of the things you foolishly typed out, at that stage in the movie they didnt even know that the engineers were human

    thank you...you've answered my question when i was wondering "what kind of a stupid dip shit would be impressed by such a flawed plot??"

    that was a glitch in his programming



    what are we supposed to go by...a slight wince that may or may not have occurred deliberately (maybe Fasenbender was holding back a sneeze?)....or the fact that on several occasions people spoke outloud about the android not having feelings

    i dont know why they kept this all to be a mystery.....hopefully they make a sequel and fassenbenders head is in it and we find out

    yeh i quite liked it
    was just frustrating that they had all these plot holes

    i hope they make another one or two that fit in before the first Alien movie....would be cool to see what happens

    I agree that David didn't have feelings. It was said as such and he is in fact an android. He gave the one guy the goo because he got orders to do so and didn't know what would happen. Even still he justified his actions by first asking the guy if and how much he was willing to sacrifice to get some answers. When the guy said everything, this gave David his justification to infect him with the goo.

    I don't think the goo reacted with feelings. If Scott said that then I accept it but if it's an assumption I would think David doesn't have feelings or emotions for it to react to. I think the goo just reacts to life but the reason it started leaking out of the canisters was because they opened the doors when they came in and changed either the atmosphere or temperature by doing so.

    I agree that the removal of the helmets was a very dumb plot hole which goes against all scientific, exploration, and common sense protocols. Obviously it was good for the film but they could have showed them have some kind of scanner or something to detect bacterias and other organisms. Even then it would still be dumb because you're dealing with an alien bacteria and don't know for sure if it would even be picked up by your scanner.

    The zombie dude was IMO the single stupidest thing in that film and definitely should have been cut out.

    So when the guy he infected with Goo Kept insulting him and he kept giving him dirty looks, that was him not having feelings? When he was reading the dreams and was obviously affected by it, that is not feelings?

    The Goo reacts to the intent and the personality of the person touching it. It has nothing to do with the atmosphere, it had everything to do with the beings that actually killed Jesus entered into the room. The same beings that are there for selfish reasons and hunger for knowledge on how to make their life better. And of course there were little bugs on the floor and when the goo reached them they turned into serpent like creatures. The serpent creatures that entered man and turned them into beast. Very biblical.

    I don't think you need a scanner. You are not stupid. The movie doesn't have to spell everything out for you. You can figure out things yourself.

    It was important scene. Again, the serpent turns man into beast. What does the serpent represent biblically? Its all reference to the bible.
