Juanma Lopez is one the commentators in the Telefutura card tonight. He looks chubby. They will show an exclusive interview with Oscar De La Hoya.

Braulio Santos TKO's John Molina in the 2nd round. Santos knocked down Molina, Molina gets up but after the 8 mandatory count he tells the ref he got enough punishment. Good power from Santos now 8-0 (7 KOs). Next the main event.

Donaire once again will be blamed for an opponent being afraid of him... He just knocked out a highly respected guy who hasn't lost since Dubya was president

Right... Donaire is so good top fighters don't even try to beat him. As soon as Nishioka started punching he got knocked out.

As a side note.. anyone else notice Donaire's bloody handwraps? Second time in three fights that has happened.

No issues with the Rios/Alvarado stoppage.

I was surprised... it looked to me through 5 or so rounds that if anyone got hurt it would be Rios. Excellent fight.

Just as well Alvarado got stopped... looking at the scorecards, he wasn't getting a decision against Rios.

i'll have to watch on tv. looked to me like alvarado could have continued. and scorecards werent relevant. his chances at victory were going to be by stoppage as well.

good for him. but it was an old guy who got whipped several times by sahaprom when he was in his prime. rigondeaux has re-upped with top rank so there is really no excuse now if donaire doesnt take him on by next summer.

Donaire looked better than he has done recently, despite Nishioka being negative. Seems like he still has some pop at 122 too.

I'd still pick him over Rigondeaux, who just doesn't look that great to me, and seems chinny.

donaire could KO rigondeaux. i agree that he seems chinny, but his offense and defense are better than donaires

The big earned fuck is better than I give him credit for. I think he'd likely beat Riggo, sadly.

I still think he belongs behind Ward on the P4P list.

He might be more electrifying than Ward, because he has the one punch power that Ward lacks, but I don't think he's better.

Yesterday he looked more like the guy that made me a fan. It wasn't just opponents being negative, I think Donaire looked bored in recent fights. Probably not taking his opponents seriously and not training as hard, combined with his opponents being negative, or bigger than usual. Either way he looked sloppy and average against Narvaez, Vazquez, and Mathebula.

Nishioka is a lot better than those guys, and Donaire in turn looked much better than his recent form.

    No doubt :bears:

If you keep on coming against Tszyu, he folds like a cheap, greasy, ugly lawn chair.

Tszyu was just a TAD bit better than Alvarado.

Donaire was excellent. What most people complaining about the fight don't realize is that Nishioka was a damn good fighter who was ranked at #1 of Super Bantamweight by many and hadn't lost in eight years. Yet, Donaire dominated him completely.

I agree with MWS that Donaire appeared bored in his last outings and now that he was facing an actual threat he returned to his best level. You can't do much better aainst a great opponent who defends himself as carefully as Nishioka did

Early this week, Kim wrote a story about Donaire's training over the last several fights. Apparently he was training himself in Vegas.

They say this was his first real camp in a while

The KO was very Roy Jones. Loved how he laid on the ropes, essentially forcing a champ like Nish to punch. The right hand was money.

Doesn't look like Donaire wants any part of Rigo. I'd love to see it.

I haven't seen the fight yet but I am very surprised to hear that Nishioka got blasted out. He was a very good champion. That's an excellent result for Nonito.

He was timid for the first few rounds...doing very little...as soon as he opened up a bit he got hit and drop...he then opened up even more after getting drop and was doing okay in spots..then he really was blasted..
