2000-2001 Judah of course. I think Zab could win, but he would fold up when Rios starts punching him back I think. Rios TKO 9
Let's not get tooooo excited over last night. I'd take a prime Zab here. Meaning, pre-Tszyu when he was at the peak of his confidence. Rios walks into too many shots, and Judah was not only a MUCH bigger puncher than Alvarado, but he'd be hitting Rios with 10x the speed, and at different angles. Zab might have been a far cry from Whitaker, but in his early 20's he boxed a lot better than people remember. I think somebody with the speed, reflexes, and countering power that Judah had would make Rios look pretty ordinary.
If Judah had a brain I can see him moving, boxing, jab/straight left...move again...staying outside counter with the occasional right hook...etc..etc..but I can't forgive him for getting rock and punk by Carlos Bumdomir....Rios is at least 10x better than Bumdomir.... Really a pick 'em....Rios has proven his chin..if he had questionable chin..then it's easy ZAB JUDAH...but he has a good chin, a lot of heart, determination, stamina the kind of shit that Judah lacks/doesn't like of his opponents.
If you compare their overall talent and skill, offense and defense, Judah is so much better it's unreal. However Rios has the perfect strengths (chin, stamina, heart, determination) to combat Judah's obvious weaknesses, so I think he'd probably win actually.
yup... Ward had a ridiculous body punch... other than that, he threw wiffle ball shots in there, nothing on them and you couldn't miss him with a punch if you were blindfolded
LOL. Ward lost virtually every round to Judah. If that's your idea of giving him a decent fight, then ok. Plus, Zab was only like 20 years in that fight. Cdogg and Whiskey hate Judah to the point that they're blinded. MIGUEL FUCKIN ACOSTA had Rios badly stunned with counters. Let's not act like Zab couldn't damage him.
You act like Judah was a different fighter before Tszyu iced him... He wasn't He was always the same fighter... fast, pretty powerful, dumber than a pile of shit, flawed technically and a total front-runner who wilted in the face of real resistance
even after losing to tszyu, judah went up and stopped stinks and took a spirited ass whupping against cotto. i think he'd withstand whatever short rios would be able to dishout. judah probably knocks him out or beats him on cuts.
Yeah but he first lost to Spinks. A guy that was made to order for him. Slower, applies no pressure and has no power. If Judah would knock out Rios it would have to be fairly early. If Rios got comfortable with speed disadvantage and could handle the firepower he'd be in Judah's gold teef having mug and battering his front running ass into submission.
spinks was a unified welterweight champion and was pretty much unbeaten unless you count his bullshit losse to diaz and that piccirillo. plus, it was mostly a chess match which judah nearly ended in the 12th when he dropped him. stinks at 140 or 147 would've also beaten rios imo.
Possibly, but Stinks provides a completely different type of opponent. he knows he has no power and is a defensive fighter first. Guys coming forward was what he wanted. Judah is a counter puncher in that he's got fast one shot punches. So he can wait for openings and sling the shots. However he does not like it at all when a guy takes his punches and keeps coming. That's because he's a jive ass purse snatching front running faggot.
Spinks is irrelevant, who could conceivably stink Rios out to a decision, especially considering he's a lot bigger than Rios. Rios matches up very well with Judah, his strengths play to Judah's weaknesses.
CLOSE Fight w/No CLEAR Winner Either Way... REED Leans SLIGHTLY Towards Judah, as he was ALWAYS an Effective Fighter EARLY Doors (Even Against the BEST Opposition he Ever Faced)...Zab's Countering, Handspeed & 2 Fisted Power just MIGHT Be Enough To Overcome Rios' HUMAN SPONGE Routine... REED:shadow:
Definitely His best asset was the ability to deliver a surprise stunner... Rios's chin would definitely be tested the first 5 rounds for sure... if he weathers that, I think he's golden... that's a BIG "if"
Pretty much. Rios was tagged almost at will by Acosta and now Alvarado. Judah has more speed and power than both of them combined, so there is a chance he could just blitz Rios early. But dunno, Rios is such a determined, gung ho little bastard, I can't help but think Judah would be on the flustered side even in the early going, with Rios in his face every second. And therefore wouldn't be landing as many clean shots as he could and should be on Rios. Then as soon as Judah started to lose focus and heart, Rios would start to beat him up.
judah was always inconsistent whether he won or lost, but in his prime (i'm assuming from his title run till lost to mayweather and cotto) he's only lost to tszyu, stinks, baldomir, floyd and cotto. baldomir was a boiled down jr. middleweight whom judah took lightly and everyone else was world class and bigger and better than rios. he hit cotto w/ some hellacious shots and took some big punches until folding in the 10th. not sure if rios would've been able to withstand those vicious uppercuts back to back especially considering his chin's not hard to find. he also cuts too.
Judah would be hitting him early, but Rios constant pressure and workrate would really fluster Zab, I think. We know that if Judah hurts Rios, Brandon will fight back. Whereas when Brandon hurts Zab(And he would), Judah would fold and take a beating the rest of the way. Zab's best chance is to catch Rios cold early with something BIG and finish it within the first 4 rounds. If that doesn't happen, Rios would simply impose his will and not let Zab breathe. I think Judah would take another beating here.
zab never got his ass kicked thoroughly until the cotto fight. i saw rios struggle against some euro stiff on the undercard of cotto/margarito 2. i dont care if he struggled with weight, but he still struggled against a no name. oh and some of you must have forgotten abou his last fight where he pretty much lost. he has one good stoppage (which he went through hell to do so) against anoher unproven banger, and all of sudden, he's some devastating indomitable brawler. go figure.
A great skillful fighter would beat Rios. But I question if Judah is it. For one, he's very flawed defensively, and he's also a frontrunner. I would argue Judah got his ass thoroughly kicked by Mayweather. Not that Rios is anything close to Floyd. But because of Rios' style and temperament, he probably could give Judah a more punishing loss than Floyd did. Even Cotto doesn't have the workrate that Rios does. He's a much better boxer of course, and a bigger man. But Cotto is more methodical than Rios is and more technical. Rios is straight up workrate from the opening bell and walks through whatever he has to. Cotto will lay off his man here and there.
if judah landed some of those shots he landed on floyd and cotto, rios would've gone down and possibly not have made it out of that round. let's see rios beat an actual top five or six type opponent before making these bold predictions.
