I've been having sporadic issues getting kicked off the last couple weeks, I post a thread in the forums and either now it's down, or they threw me out. Can somebody check and see if they can get on? I don't watch 16 rolls of film every day studying the feinting nuances of every boxer who ever lived in the film era.
The site seemed to be loading fine including the forum but i don't have an account over there to test posting.
Arghhhh! Might just be my Malware and Ad Blockers fucking with me. I have to have them on full blast for that site. It's working now, but I don't know for how long. Maybe they block me, when I block their ads. :scratcher:
Forum was the only thing working for me for a bit, I had to go through hell to find the password though, since I've never really used it. Then I was blocked completely for day or so, from the entire site. I couldn't even get on through a Google search. Weird.
Can somebody do me a favor and go on Boxrec and just click around a bit in the records section. Just go into any boxers record and click through to other records until you get to 60 or 70 clicks if you can? Once I get to about 50 clicks I get the following message: Please login to help us to manage the load on the servers, it is completely free of charge. I can view the forum after that (which I don't really care about), but the rest of the website seems to be off-limits to me for the next several hours at least. I've tried clearing my cookies, using different browsers, doesn't matter. Looks like there's either a general page view limitation, or there's a page view limitation on my IP address for some reason or another. ......and actually logging in does nothing for me. Let's me post on the forum, but I still can't do anything else.
Cool steve_dave. I'm not the only one then. Anybody else? I started a thread over there last week but never got a response. Claims nothing is wrong. They probably only post in the forums and don't even use the site. I use it all the time to research my auctions and website listings, so it's pretty important to me. It's amazing how quickly you'll get 50 clicks in when you've got a shitload of fight posters to research.
Logging in doesn't do shit for me. Keeps me on the forums but doesn't do anything for the rest of the site. I think it automatically logs you off when you go anywhere outside the forum area.
I assume they are trying to keep a robot from stealing all of their information. You may have to become an adminstrator to keep it from happening, Nobleart. Just a guess.
I was sort of thinking that myself. I found the Fightsrec site and figured they just lifted all their info from Boxrec. It's good for bare-bones individual fighter records, but doesn't have the cross referencing, date tools and a lot of the little details that Boxrec has. I'll probably try to e-mail Shep.
