Moreno-Mares, Lara-Vanes discussion

Let's discuss and do r-b-r for both cards in this thread.

Lara is gonna outclass Vanes, I have little doubt about that.

Moreno-Mares is tougher to call, but I have a bad feeling it may add up being a poor man's, tiny weight version of Whitaker-Chavez. Moreno outboxes Mares, and get's robbed. I hope I'm wrong.

I think Lara can stop the dirty rat if he's motivated enough. The dirty rat doesn't have the best chin, and Lara is a sharp enough puncher to take him out IMO.

Moreno probably can't stop Mares, but it'd be GREAT if he could.

I'm watching Nathan Cleverly on Show Extreme.

He's crap. The Brits that hype this guy are off their rockers.

Calling him a homeless man's Sloppy Joe is an understatement.

Some Brits are really saying that Cleverly would give Ward a tough fight. LMAO!

I absolutely agree, I just can't understand why anyone rates the guy. He's a big oaf, who is average at best at world level, if that. Looks more like a European level guy to me.

I like Moreno to upset Mares and Lara to look impressive enough to make Canelo avoid him in the near future.

What a disappointing ending to Lara-Vanes.

Vanes lucked out with the headbutt though. Lara was beginning to take over.

 

After 1 round it's very apparent that unless Mares does some dirty shit all night he'll get outclassed.

Mares is one skilless bum.

 

So far Dela Cruz vs Zaleta has been the most entertaining brawl of the night.

 

Mares vs Moreno round 1= foul fest.

 

I can't stand this cheating little cunt. If he manages to foul his way to a decision over Moreno, I can't wait to see him get flattened by Nonito.

 

Round 3 Moreno schooled Mares.

 

Indeed. I'm no fan of the big earned Pinoy, but I'd love to see him knock Mares dead.

 

Round 4 Mares throwing lots of puches, using aggression to neutralize Moreno during first half. Moreno doing well and LOW BLOW! DAMN IT!

 

This is Agbeko-Mares all over agai.

 

Round 5 Mares continues charging with agression. Moreno steps backs and nails him over and over. Down goes Moreno! It was counted as knock down. Looked like a push to me.

 

Round 6 Mares comes lookig for a KO. Moreno survives and starts nailing Mares. Mares looks tired. GREAT PUNCH BY MARES!! mORENO IS HURT!! Trying to survive the round. Great round for Mares.

I don't get the hate for Mares.

He's dirty but so have been a lot of the greats.

He's very aggressive and fights the best, can't ask for much more.

 

Round 7 both fighters exchaging blows. Moreno more sharp. Mares taunts him. Ref warns Mares for low blow, but no point deduction. Commentators excusing Mares for low blows. :doh:

 

Round 8 Mares takes Moreno to the ropes throws bombs. Moreno trying unsuccesfully to get out. Good punch by Moreno. Mares now against the ropes. Mares is hurt!!!Now Moreno gets hurt! goes stumbling back. Both boxers finish the round trading blows! Great round.
