Too bad. You can't play boxing. Ricky was getting picked off, he's not a fraction of the guy he was. That's life. I just hope he ends up better off than he is right now. Can't see it ending well myself. He's an addict, and needs monitoring.

Forget the promoting business... Ricky should be in the gym working with young fighters. Even if he isn't much of a trainer, it would be something for him to wake up and do every day.

Yep, absolutely. A better lifestyle than promoting, for someone like Hatton anyway.

Hatton Can Be the FACE of a Successful Boxing Promotional Outfit, Similar to DeLa w/Golden Boy...Richard Schaefer Actually RUNS Golden Boy...Hatton just Needs to Find a BUSINESS Oriented Cat that he TRUSTS & He'll Pimp the Euro Scene as Golden Boy is w/American Fighters....It's Definitely FEASIBLE...

I don't get it. Hatton has tens of millions in the bank, is one of the most popular athletes in the UK, sells out every arena he fights in, has millions of women flocking to him, has a supportive family, great parents...and yet the guy wants to kill himself? :scratcher: Does he have brain damage? Or he's a piece of street trash who never could handle fame?

No doubt... but being the face of something isn't necessarily something that keeps you occupied every day. Hatton needs to keep busy somehow. Something that involves exercise would be another bonus.

Well, DeLa Seems Fairly Occupied by Golden Boy Promotions, for the Most Part...Golden Boy Does TONS of Shows Throughout Texas & Other States Heavily Populated by Latinos, Not to Mention their HBO, SHOWTIME & PPV Dates...Granted, DeLa's Particular Role is Public Appearances (Pressers, Weigh-In's, Fight Night, etc.), but there's ENOUGH Shows to Where he's in that Capacity SEVERAL Times a Month...Between Training AND Promoting (To the Extent DeLa "Promotes"), Hatton Could Do Likewise...

If there's a "Brain" in the Team Hatton Outfit, NOW is the Time to Realize this Path has Been Navigated Previously...Allow Ricky Time to MOURN a Bit, then Throw this Business Venture @ Him, Using DeLa as the Blueprint...Embarrassing Loss to Pacquiao, Drug Issues, Marital/Family Issues, DeLa's BEEN There...

The guy had the world at his feet. More opportunities than most. What's the sympathy for?

The sympathy is probably for the fact that he can't see what you can...

I might be in the minority but I hope Rickey comes up with some excuse and comes back again...only to get knocked the F. Out but a even lesser bum .... Then come back again and get knocked out again....

Haven't seen the fight but i've just seen the post fight interview. Was obviously a tough thing to do to face the media like that after being beaten (and from the state of his face, it looks like he took a beating), so fair play to Ricky for that. I do feel very sad for him right now because he's made this comeback and he's lost, but not only that, he's now retired for a second time and has just lost to a guy he would have battered in his prime. Losing to Floyd and Pacquiao is something, but losing to Senchenko is something else. It's very very sad.

Jesus Christ, Ricky sounded suicidal in the primetime interview directly after the fight. It was scary listening to him.

That was the longest first round of boxing I have ever watched. For some illogical reason I expected Hatton to win but I was fearful from R1.

A prime Hatton was never effective at 147 remember Collazo. It's so sad to see a successful guy who dominated his division spiral outta control.

Froch was very harsh in the studio but ultimately he was right. I hope Ricky can focus his mind on something outside of the ring.

I could be wrong but I didnt see his family (apart from his wife) ringside

I think he has a promotion company ?

Agreed that Hatton should become a trainer. The guy needs a daily routine to keep busy.
