For one, because that's simply a bullshit score, I thought it was 8 to 4, and second, it was MSG, you'd imagine any close rounds would go Cotto's way. Bizarre. Plus the powers that be would obviously prefer Cotto Vs Canelo, than Trout Vs Canelo.

It'd be a more exciting fight than Canelo-Trout, Cotto is still a big name, and it's a far more winnable fight for the Ginger than Trout would be.

 

cotto must have toook a hit here leverage wise for an alvarez bout. i guesss what he ends up getting paid for the trout fight makes up for the difference and then some.
