Definitely a fight I'd like to see. I'd favor Cotto to win a competitive bout.

At this point I'd favor Alvarez but I think it's a close fight.

I personally think that Canelo vs. Cotto is a toss up. At 154 and at this stage Cotto is no longer prime. Canelo is better than given credit to. He doesn't do one thing great but he is pretty good all around and is getting better. Not sure how good he can be but I dont' seen anybody at 154 beating him easy.

I also dont' think Josesito Lopez is crap I just think he belongs at 140! I think him against DAnny Garcia, Mathysse, Alvarado, Rios would be all toss up and great fights.

LMAO! You wish. Lopez is a bum. He would lose to all those guys, ESPECIALLY Matthyse. You're on crack if think Lopez would a toss up vs Matthyse.

Lucas would bury WHO'Sesito's bum ass.

like Lucas is anything special. The guy's claim to fame is getting robbed by Alexander and Judah. Both considered bums by most here. The hell was he even fighting Judah? the guy has been shot for 5-7 years now.

Lucas is good and could probably beat those guys but like Garcia, Rios, neither guy has put themselves above anybody. You make Lucas sound like some pfp fighter. lol! The guy is a slightly better version than Maidana with less mileage.

Josesito has lost going up to 147 and 154 where he has no business fighting at. Let me know when Lucas takes a risk fighting bigger guys. I hear he wants Morales next! The guys fought Soto two fights ago for gods sake. who wasn't shit since 126!

You're right. Only the mighty Jesse Vargas and Edgar Santana's of the world can beat Who'sesito at the lower weights.

Once again I will say, Lopez is a bum.

Prior to the Ortiz fight, he wouldn't have been favored over Kevin Mitchell, much less Lucas Matthyse. He didn't exactly show great skill/talent in the Ortiz fight either.

All he showed was the guts to hang in there, and fight back. And lucky for him, that's all it takes to beat pussy ass Victoria.

Judah, and Alexander are both miles more skilled/talented than Lopez, and anyone with two eyes knows Matthyse won both fights.

Lopez doesn't have much firepower, doesn't have much skill, his defense sucks, and his chin is average.

Pray tell, how would he beat Matthyse?

I'm not even sure WHOsesito would have beaten the African Matthyse just destroyed, Ajose.

Lopez sucks. He's ESPN2 calibre AT BEST.

Lopez is not a bum, he's just a gutsy fringe world class guy. But yeah, at world level he's obviously not particularly good. Lucas would beat him up.

I have. Canelo stops Cotto within 10 rounds. Miguel is done. His last top performance was against Margarito and Mayweather.

He looked sloppy, slow and sluggish against Trout. It's safe to say he's done as a Top level fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires.

i'd like to see this fight
at this point honestly.. i think Canelo is too young and too strong
Cotto kinda looks like a metrosexual who is aging and i think he might get beat up here

i guess it's possible cotto could catch and hurt Canelo but i kinda doubt it.. Shane couldnt do shit with Canelo

GB must be pissed because they want to make this fight. Its still possible to make it, but its a tougher sell now than it would have been had Cotto won.

As for the fight, I dislike Canelo intensely because he's so overrated and ducks top competition. Be that as it may, he would beat Cotto down very badly. He'd do it within 7 rounds too. Miguel looks so slow now, and his timing and accuracy have waned. He's never had the sturdiest chin either. What he has always had is a great ability to recover, but thats totally gone now. Trout is not a particularly big puncher and he had Cotto on queer street more than once. Canelo hurts Miguel badly at this point.

    Alvarez KO 6

I agree but at this stage Canelo stops Cotto. Miguel looked very sluggish Saturday.

Absolutely not. The kid struggled when he was 19, he doesn't deserve another chance.

I hate to say it, but the Ginge would win pretty clearly over the sluggish, sloppy Cotto we saw on Saturday.

What does this say about Mayweather's closer than expected win over Cotto? Is Floyd slipping that much?

To be honest no, not really. The Cotto that turned up against Floyd was much better than the one on Saturday.

That Cotto and Mayweather are similar size...both are Welterweights...Mayweather might be slightly smaller....while Trout look like a Middleweight/Super Middleweight...

I'll take Canelo over Mayweather as well by TKO.

Left hook to the floating rib spells doom for Floyd.

Canelo is waaaaay bigger then Floyd...........but if Floyd hasn't slowed down a ton, there's no way Canelo ever lands that shot on him.

There's a good chance he'd be able to bully his way to a decision though.

No, there isn't. Ginger would have about a 0.1% chance of beating Floyd. Floyd would school him, Ginger would be a confused, beaten mess by the end of the fight.

    Agreed.

Provided there isn't any real slippage from Mayweather, he would EASILY beat the Ginger whom is one of the most protected and overrated fighters I've ever seen.

No way, Cotto is 154, Mayweather fought him at HIS weight. Mayweather is a hero, moving up to face the big bad Cotto.

Based on what though? Sure he looked better against Mayweather, but was that due to Cotto or Mayweather?

Personally I think Floyd has slipped quite a bit.
