You know who was IN HIS ELEMENT at Live-Aid??? PHIL FUCKING COLLINS... It was everything HE liked about music... horrific synth technology, drums that sound like a bag of portland being dropped from 1,000 feet, basses that sound like corrugated cables vibrating against a giant slab... Phil Collins was one of the most important "artists" in the destruction of music... the present popular music scene owes loads to Phil Collins... you can hear his legacy on any pop station on the dial... he is corporate music

 

if there is a Rush album where all three members are heard being gunned down just as they begin to play, then that would be my favorite
