Carrie Underwood to star in The Sound of Music remake

Apparently Hollywood is no longer afraid of sacrilege since they are preparing the remake one of the most sacred cows in filmdom pantheon: The Sound Of Music. NBC is preparing a remake of the beloved musical that immortalized Julie Andrews as Maria Von Trapp, the nun that turn governess to the children of Captain Von Trapp and then falls in love with him during the brink of World War II. And to play the lead NBC has signed former American Idol winner and Country music superstar Carrie Underwood to velch, "The hills are alive with the sound of music..." What next? Citizen Kane starring Jack Black? Gone with The Wind starring Megan Fox & Tom Cruise? The African Queen starring Will Ferrel and Meryl Streep?

 

The original suck...so fuck it. Only a homo would be outraged by this...

 

My point is that until now the films considered masterpieces were left alone in remaking recycle Hollywood machine. Now you can expect remakes of The Godfather or Rocky.

Well at least Chloe Grace Moretz, 15, will play Carrie White which will be the first time a real teenager will play that part (Sissy Spacek was 28 years old when she played Carrie and Angela Bettis was 29 when she did the 2002 tv version).
