Brosnan was perfect for the role... unfortunately the movies were pretty average

I really liked Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and Die another Day. The world is not enough sucked. But those three are pretty good. I just saw the Bond Marathon for Thanksgiving. There are stinkers out there that are way below these three.

No - I dont hate him - I enjoyed the first 2 he was in but then it got all a bit cheesy and Austin Powers after that.
I don't have any hatred toward the Irish - just toward everyone else who stereotypically thinks the Irish are some great, fun-loving race who solely dance jigs, talk like lepreuchauns and drink a lot.

And every city I've ever been to seem to have some kind of 'Irish' themed-bar which I ensure I never visit, ever, while I'm there.

I prefer a darker Bond much like the modern version with Daniel Craig. While I like Craig as Bond I think Brosnan in the current movie is a better fit

    'Die Another Day'?
That movie fell apart as soon as the opening credits finished: awful CGI, ditto action choreography/production values, a stupendously bad Madonna cameo (is there any other type though?), cringe-worthy subplots, an ice-palace (literally), an invisible car (you couldn't make this stuff up), and a 3rd-act that completely and utterly jumps the shark.
This movie, all on its own, spoofs the entire Bond franchise...and almost killed it off for good (Daniel Craig all but admitted as much in a GQ interview a few months back).

so, in other words, people who are not Irish or if they are, learned that they have a great-great-great grandma who was and learned the rest from Lucky Charms?

The problem is that your comments on the matter are typically directed at the "Irish" not at either non-Irish who believe all of that Leprechaun shit or the so-called Plastic Paddy variety

It's Irish people you call scum, not the makers of Lucky Charms

Didn't they use the same technology in a Bond with Daniel Craig...

Anyway that is kinda the point of Bond, some say Fleming was a mental case for thinking up some of the original gadgets.

    1 - Did they? When?

2 - Kind of stretching the point a bit too far, isn't it.

Yeah i agree. I like the darker version too. But Bond has a history of the lighter side too. Maybe that is all gone now. That being said, if Brosnan was in these movies craig were in, i too think they would be much better.

Why? Brosnan is a great actor. He is very slick and smooth. Craig isnt really smooth. he is Brute and strong. But Brosnan has much more range than Craig. He could pull off the dark role.

1 - Someone must have hacked into my account and done it. :scratcher:

2 - Oh shut up and stop getting all pissy and spitting-your-dummy out when someone mentions against against Catholics, Irish Catholics and shooting them.

Ill have to google it not quite sure which movie. The tech is based on projection, it's very do able. Granted it would be difficult to pull it off with a moving car.

The lighter side is why I don't like many bond movies. Too much cheese.

    This.

Its not a slight on Craig who is currently doing a great job. However visually he does not look like bond. The fact that he can still pll off the role is testament to him.

I like Brosnan but think Craig is great for the role. This Bond needs a rugged actor, not a smooth one.

Brosnan was cool as fuck in his non speaking role in The Long Good Friday.

Brosnan can play rugged. Craig is great in the role. But i just think Brosnan would be better in it.
