He gave it a right old go but that first body shot did the damage.

Calzaghe dominates Collins like a lion dominates Antelope. Come on man, you both know that fight isn't competitive.

Kessler made Magee look like the mook he is with those body shots. And he is the only man to have really hurt the farmer with the same shot. As you say, a very underrated weapon.

To say that Collins 'beat up' Eubanks is an exaggeration. He won, for sure, but he didn't beat him up. Eubanks, the real Eubanks of those early days, would have stopped Collins in the ninth, but that Eubanks was long gone.

Watson would have whooped both of them.

People cant have it both ways. Collins beat Eubank and it was nothing. Joe beat him and becomes a legend.
Steve has two convincing wins V Eubank, Joe V Eubank was hell in a cell for both guys.

What does all this mean, probably nothing but it is one way of comparing Joe and Steve.

Well, I would say that Collins won two close but clear fights against Eubanks. I'd say that Calzaghe won a close but clear win against Eubanks. I'd say that 'hell in a cell (WWF ) is an exaggeration. The three wins are of equal value in all regards IMO.

Well Collins V Eubank was no ladder match

But if Eubank was shot then what was he 2/3 years later

Shot. But when I say Eubanks was 'shot', I don't mean physically. See my earlier post. Eubanks was shot mentally by 1992, but physically he was still sound all the way up to (and possibly including) his tremendous wars with Thompson. For what it is worth, I rate Collins and Calzaghe's wins over Eubanks a lot higher than Collins' wins over Benn. Benn was absolutely fucked by that point. Eubanks was still good enough to beat anyone not up to the mark at that point. Benn, by comparison, could barely tie his own shoelaces.

Agreed on Benn, he was well over the hill at that stage. I was comparing the two based on earlier posts. Basically you cannot give Joe credit for beating Eubank without passing that same credit onto Collins.

    no doubt

I wasn't sure whether to go with Michael, Judy or Joan Collins for that line:lol:

In the end, the fact that one of them died 90 years ago seemed to be more of an indictment

Roid needs to stop fighting these cans . This is not the 90's. Roid needs to step it up if he wants to regain his light heavyweight titles.
