Cotto honestly looked pretty close to shot to me. Even when his punches would land on Trout, they lacked sharpness. I think the wars have all caught up with Miggy, including the Mayweather fight where he took tons of punishment as well.

Canelo would love this opportunity to pad his record and add a "name" to his resume much like he did with Mosley.

De La Hoya won't let him near Trout.

Definitely a better style match for him, plus it must have been hard for him to get up for the trout fight

    Yep.

Then Judah or Mayorga after that.

Would Martinez-Trout work? Doesn't seem like there's a long line of opponents for either

I'm sure Trout would take it but i think Martinez would want somebody ...

    Well, more money.

He will make it a fight, then get stopped.

Agreed, Martinez probably doesn't have many fights left and I doubt he wastes one on Trout.

Why will Canelo fight Cotto now, a boxer who has lost his last two fights? He should fight Trout or Lara or Kirkland!

Kirkland is possible. Flat footed, no defense, no chin. Perfect for Canelo to look like a monster against.

Lara and Trout are too dangerous. Both are slick and skillful, and have the style to make Canelo look very bad.

Also there's more money and notoriety with Cotto.

If your Canelo's management it's pretty obvious which fight you prefer.

I'll be shocked if Floyd gets anywhere near Alvarez.

I like Canelo to stop Floyd when and if that ever comes off.

Have you, by any chance, ever interviewed Alvarez, stood next to him or met a guy who goes to same gym as him?

I spoke with Canelo awhile back when he was promoting his fight with Alfonso Gomez, so the answer to your question is yes, I have met him.

Mayweather takes Canelo to school and makes it look easy.

Its doubtful if Canelo could even beat Lara or Trout.

Lara is pretty overrated, he hasn't looked nearly as good as people claim he is.

Floyd is a great figher, but he can be hit to the side and midsection just like everyone else, and therein lies the key to victory for Alvarez.
