Yeah not going to happen. (at least for very long) As great as Marquez is, his footwork is still pretty poor. (similar in some regards to Tito) A smaller guy without much lateral movement is a bad recipe against Trinidad.
I'd give Marquez a real shot here. Seriously. He's as durable as fuck and clever enough a counter puncher to give Tito real problems. MTF :dunno:
Marquez didn't even "clown" Rocky Juarez. He has no chance against Tito. I would give him a shot vs Tszyu, but it wouldn't be any kind of one sided beating.
Tszyu couldn't even beat Hatton. Marquez would school him. I'd say he did clown Juarez too, seeing as rocky barely won a round. Marquez is simply a different league of fighter to Tszyu, and much tougher, with more heart, ok bich.
I think Tito is one of the most overrated 147lb champions of all time. Slow feet, wide ass left hook, he just relied on being taller and harder-hitting than a lot of the guys he fought. When you look at the list of guys who dropped him, some of the names are embarrassing......Kevin fucking Looshing? If Oscar had any balls he would have stopped him inside two rounds. Vargas had him down, Reid had him down, Campas had him down, the guy got hit and dropped so routinely that I shudder to think what would have happened him if he stepped in against any of the true greats from 147 to 154...I think Duran would have beaten the living shit out of him. Barkley might have stopped him at 160, never mind Hearns. I think Marquez can clown him for large parts of the fight, but would probably eventually walk into something big, like he did against the truly ordinary Michel Le Katsidis.
I'm surprised at some comments here.. I think Tito beats the LIVING SHIT out of Marquez!!!i think he would send Marquez into unconscious convolusions on the canvas where Marquez would pull out his trunks and jerk off and scream "Viva Puerto Rico" and climax !!!!!!
This fight won't go more than 2-3 rounds...Trinidad by KO....you fuckers are either trolling, Trinidad haters or Marquez groupies...
I always hear about these knockdowns of Trinidad... I hear less about how all these guys ended up after scoring these knockdowns Yes, Trinidad was very one-dimensional when faced with someone who could really stick and move... Juan Manuel Marquez is too small, too slow and too vulnerable defensively to do anything resmbling what Oscar De la Hoya or Hopkins did... He probably lands some great counters... eventually he's getting fucking leveled
