Great, now we got to witness how Tarintino rips off Mandingo. Ah who am I kidding I'll be there on opening night. If it's Tarintino you know it's got some good drama and grade A dialogue. Although they missed the boat not casting Jackson as the angry black man which is a role he was born to play.

YES THEY DESERVED TO DIE AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!!

Will Smith as Django? Get the fuck ot of here, get a cool actor like a Clive Owen for that role.

i thought this was a remake of the spaghetti western Django, my bad. I guess Will Smith is not such a bad choice then.

Just read an article on why Will Smith basically turned down the role. Apparently Smith and his manager figured out a way to predict which movies would be the most successful choices for him by looking at the top grossing films of the past 20 plus years and patterning his career by that. It also called for Smith not to take chances, such as playing bad guys or the Django role. Here's the article if anyone is interested.

Smith's image is too clean to play that sort of role. it would tarnish his clean-cut, PG persona. Foxx is a good choice. I would've liked Djimon Hounsou.

That is the problem. It would be better for smith to take the role. Denzel had a clean cut image too. It took at bad guy to get his oscar.

I'm not feeling Foxx for this role. I like Foxx, but not here. I think Djimon or even the guy from the wire would have been better. Or either the 2 guys from Oz either Adibise or the Muslim leader guy.

Fox is good. You have to look at QT's style. You have to be able to be a smooth talker. Fox will be perfect. The role might even get him an oscar if the script is as good as I am hearing.

My problem with Will Smith's casting is that I'd have a hard time believing his character as a slave. He's light-skinned and has weird facial traits.

There were many light skinned slaves. You don't think the white man didn't rape them woman all the time?

I know but it's just me. I see Djimon and I see a slave. He sold it very well in Amistad. Will Smith wasn't even credible in Ali IMO. There's something about his looks that don't scream "Slave".

Well he wouldnt be one for long. He is freed and then trained as a bounty hunter to kick ass.

BTW, i appreciated Jackie Brown much more in my mid 20s than i did when i was a teenager.
