http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/20790577 Another easy one sided victory or can Alexander give the Klit a run for this money?
It's about fucking time already - not that I'm looking forward to it or anything. Why can't any of these guys beat those boring fucking brothers? Granted, Vitali is far from boring. But in his case, he wins so easily it's boring. In Wlad's case, it's just straight up boring.
About time indeed. I thought Povetkin was going to fight Wlad years ago after beating Byrd and Chambers. I think he actually has regressed since then. Too many trainers, too many people telling him too many different things. I think Wlad will brutalize him, I mean if Huck almost beats you then good luck against Wlad.
I can't see any way Povetkin wins. First of all, he's a decent heavy for today's division, but still nothing special. And it's not like he can outbox Wlad, and doesn't have the type of power to change the fight with one punch.
Povetkin was one of the best super-heavy amateurs when he won the Olympic gold. Also he looked very promising early in his career, easily defeating Chris Byrd, Larry Donald (when it still meant something) in his 13th and 14th fight. Then came injuries, then came Atlas, and since then he has been a waste. Povetkin's inside combinations are excellent for any era, but he isn't much of a puncher and he has an astonishing ability these days to get hit by any punch thrown to his general direction. Thus, Wlad by stoppage in 10, very easily
Wlad's gonna put a beatdown on Povetkin. I used to think Povetkin was going to be the next star of heavyweight boxing.
Klitschkos are active and keep fighting the best out there. Bottom line is a lot of people will tune in.
Povetkin's win against Chagaev is one of his best, although beating Chagaev doesn't help prepare him for a Klitschko. If you really want to give yourself the best chance, you fight the other giants like Fury, Thompson, and Price and learn how to land on tall guys. However, that's too risky so no one does it. Povetkin is better than anyone who has already beaten a Klitschko, except Lennox, so he has a chance, but he doesn't have the power of Sanders and Wlad isn't as stupid as he was against Brewster anymore. I really think Vitali is the guy to aim for now. He's slipped noticeably and considerably since his prime.
Povetkin is the best fight out there right now for either Klit. The fact that he'll probably get a beating says a lot. MTF
