Bereavement wasn't too bad. It sucks that you love horror films because those seem to be the worst ones these days. Sucks for me too because that's pretty much all my girl wants to see so I keep getting sucked into watching one of the crappiest genres.

Check out The Shrine if you haven't seen that one yet. Cool twist to the film and it is sort of like The Evil Dead. Best horror I've seen this year.

Former professional wrestler Chyna did a porno recently as she's dressed up as the incredible hulk and is fucking thor. That should be scarier than anything you will ever see.

I watched "Blood Creek" with Fassbender, Purcell and Cavill last night.

The action was pretty non-stop with a few tense scenes.

Good looking film, with A movie acting and directing, but the plot and script was convoluted and ridiculous. Could have been made by the Scy-Fi Channel, so it was better then it had any business being.

I just saw House at the end of the Street, Sinister and The Awakening. I wouldn't recommend any of them but as far as horror films go I'm sure they're probably right up at the top.

House at the end of the Street - Wasn't too bad. At best you came to care about the characters and you weren't bored with the buildup as the dialouge and pacing was okay. In the end it turned out to be more drama then horror as stuff didn't really happen til the end. One good aspect is they give you a lot of nice boob visuals while you wait (even if it is with the shirt still on) with the girl from Hunger Games (didn't know she was that fine) and her mom played by Tom Cruise's girl from cocktail. 5/10

The Awakening - I had high expectations for this one after seeing the trailer. Turned out to be only okay. This also had good production as the visuals, acting, dialogue, and pacing were all spot on. You even came to care about the characters here too. Only problem is once you are presented with the twist, the film ceases to be scary any more, but up until that point it was. Another problem I had was understanding a lot of what was being said. I don't know if it was accents are what but I was having trouble and really tried to find a copy with subtitles. 5.5/10

Sinister - Definitely the creepiest of these 3 films. Like the others it was done well production wise, and you really got into the snuff films he was watching with all the killings. It was pretty scary at times but I still wouldn't sit through it again. 5.5/10

All horrors today are practically remakes and shit ones at that.

dunno why anyone expects any horror to be some classic top 10 atg movie or something

they're just dumb light movies for entertainment...much like a dumb action or dumb comedy

Yeah, I saw that one a while back. Wasn't bad at all, although I thought the ending was fucking ridiculously convient for how the girl wound up getting down.

Anyway I checked out another horror film this weekend thanks to having a girl friend who continues to watch this stuff no matter how many times it disappoints her. Cool thing was we watched it while eating real live Japenese Kobe beef steak.

THE POSSESION - Another well written, well produced film. Good acting, pacing, and dialogue. Much like the other horror films I watched lately this comes off more like a drama with horror elements. It wasn't too scary but had it's moments. Wasn't violent at all either but there was one scene that totally grossed me out because it hit too close to home on one of my phobia's and I had to avert my eyes. Not a bad film although it ended exactly the way I predicted it would. 5.5/10

Watched something called "The Bleeding House" the other night.

Low budget, I thought it was going to be a really bad flick to make fun of, but it turned into a watchable film.

Not great, maybe not even good, and definitely not scary............ but a somewhat interesting premise and a couple of interesting acting performances by the two main characters.
